LSD Question

Sorry guyz.. I just got my C63 here in the UAE and though I think all the C63s come with the PP package would there be any difference between a C63 with LSD and one without LSD? in terms of 0-60 or 0-100 time? or does it only make a difference in the cornering?

thanks

I contacted Quaife and they sent me a reply. They have no confirmation that the Quaife unit fits a C63, they asked me to provide the dimensions for the C63 differential so that they could confirm whther it fits or not, I have no knowledge of the dimensions of the C63 differential dimensions.
If any C63's out there have the Quaife LSD then please email Quaife through their web site to confirm otherwise Quaiffe does not confirm that their LSD fits a C63. I found it strange that Quaife was asking me those questions as would it not be in their best interest to search for the dimensiosn through MB or other contacts or even get a C63 and measure it themselves.

When I talked to Quaife I couldn't get a straight answer re: the diff. Contact BigBob (on this forum, somewhere), he's got the OS Giken on his. NICE unit.

Is your C63 US spec? For me the biggest difference without LSD in definitely cornering with esp sport or off rather than straight line. I got my C63 without LSD also and feel that it will make alot of difference in term of enjoying the car if you do have a lsd.

LSD will most definitely give you better handling and control when going around corner, its actually much more fun to drive. I'm also pretty sure it will launch the car better(i.e better straight line acceleration). Kleemann claims that their LSD will lower any AMG by more than 0.3s to 100km/h, which is not bad...
(i live in Lebanon, and have been many times to UAE, considering how you guys drive, don't think twice before getting an LSD )

A little Mule
Will the aftermarket LSD affect any of all the electronics controls/switchs in place? Since both wheels will be spinning? on/off the track? I'm no expert but I don't think one can just replace differential just like that.

No issue, most of our customers who install the quaife LSD actually see the ESP come on less with the same driving as before.

What it means is that you are getting better traction where your vehicle does not see the need to knock back power.
