I am not bashing you guys. I have bought many itms from you for my C63. I bought the HR springs which will be great until you make the lower control arm links. I am just saying H and R coil overs are not track bullet proof. I have discussed this with Simon. We disagree but we also disagree on what to run in a 7 CUP GT3. I love MOtons he loves JRZs. This is all in good fun no one is ever the authority.

Nice car. It is just a piece of mind thing for me. If H&R would assure me that they would hold up for track use, I would reconsider. Living close to Evosport would also help as i would have them do install.

um... interesting recommandation from you.
Coming from bmw background I haven't heard too many good things about HnR coilovers. I think they are mostly on the stiffer side unless this one is valved specificly for C63 but I doubt it. And as far as better performance than stock I have my doubt too...

ones too fast according to CHP!
First off all, everyone needs to remember that people have opinions and are entitled to them. It does not make them right or wrong, they are just opinions.
We base our recomendaitons on MANY data points, not just one car or one users experience.
H&R are the best street/trrack coil-overs available - PERIOD. They have the best reliability, the best support and the best engineering. Most don't know, but they private label for many German manufacturers as well as most Super Tuners and low-production exotic makers. This is not hype, I have been to the factory many times in Germany and SEEN it with my own eyes.
They also R&D EACH and EVERY coil-over kit for a german car on the autobahn and 'Ring. They do in fact actually mount the kits and beat them up around the legendary race circuit. Agian, I have been there and seen it happen.
I have also been building street and track cars for 11 years now and have never seen an H&R break in any manner that is from manufacturing. I have seen them brake from poor installation, incorrect spring choice, off-track encoutners, etc. We are talking about 1000's of cars literally. We have built cars for 4 EuroTuner Shoot-outs, a EuropeanCar magazine suspension test as well as many race series with H&R street coil-overs, and in fact have WON these events in BMWs and Mercedes.
I personally raced an e46 M3 HP car with STREET H&R/evo RSS coil-overs and set a few track records (even at high g-load tracks like 160mph+ California Speedway) with not one failure.
Now, do ALL mechanical wear items have failures - YES. I have seen this with all shocks/struts. This is normal and people need to accept this.
Also, will any manufacture have a problem from time to time - YES. But when that happens, nobody is better about taking care of it than H&R. NOBODY!
Yes, you get a lifetime warranty as well with us installing them. Authorized dealers enjoy this support from H&R across the country! Most "issues" you hear from people are with those that were installed by someone who did not have this support.
That is strange, as I haven't ever heard too many bad things about H&R coil-overs. They are not stiff, they are more firm - there is a BIG difference. And of course they are specifically valved to the C63, why else would there be a kit ONLY for that engine/chassis?
Anyone who has doubts, come and drive in our demo car - that will settle any assumptions I am sure!
Just to be clear, I have a HUGE bias toward H&R. This is one built upon 15+ years of use and 11+ years of professional sales and service. They just work and the people at H&R really understand suspension and how to service their clients. Now, if you spoke to someone there, realize, you are not dealing with a brand specialist or a salesman - they are not set-up to deal with individual end users. They let their qualified tuner shops handle that. So you may or may not get someone on the phone that knows the specific kit(s) you are asking about. Those people are there, they are just not the ones answering the end-user phone calls - they are busy engineering and supporting the shops!
Thanks
Brad

I hereby eat my words. Brad at Evosport was right. I was looking for a set of KWs, but could not find one in the country. I had switched to PP suspension and Hankook tires, car was a mess. Problem was that I could not get the KWs in time for my next track event. Found a set of H&Rs in the country, and since I could not bear the thought of going out with the same set up, I went ahead and ordered the H&Rs. 3 days later they were installed. First impression I had was how comfortable they were versus PP set up. Car felt solid and lite. Cornered flat and stopped without excessive dive. But the proof would be on the track. As a reference, I lapped my car with non PP set up and Dunlop Direzzas (K2 and Quaife LSD) consistently in low 1.09s at Beaver Run race track. Anything below 1:15 is considered fast there for a street car. Switched to PP set up and Hankooks and went back. I have posted about this before. Not a good experience. Trying very hard and driving on the edge, I was doing high 1.11s. Scary experience. This time I went back with the H&R coilovers and switched back to the Dunlops. WOW!!! My time was consistently in the 1.07s. The Hankooks were part of the problem the second time out, but the PP set up was just too stiff and would skip in high speed corners. Therefore, to eliminate Hankook variable, compare the results to original set up that got the low 1.09s. I was 2 seconds faster with this setup. There was no car on that track that was faster that day. Most in my group ran cup tires as well. Suspension felt great and provided me with tons of confidence.
I know they are not adjustable. But the set up is perfect to me. Glad I do not have the opportunity to screw it up again. Oh ya, everyone complimented the looks. I am a believer. I want to thank Euro Motorcars in Devon for working with me and getting the car just right. They are awesome.
Now I just need brakes. Went through the second set of front rotors. This is ridiculous. We all know what they cost. They are fried again. I switched to the two piece PP rotors and they lasted only two track events. Need a better solution then replacing them with MB OEM parts.

I think that H&R is great company. But I think it all depends what that person likes and where to drive the car. Race track? You need that set up, 0-400 miles? you need that set up, just on street and just want to lower the car? you need that set up.
So you cant say H&R is bad or good, KW is good or bad. You may feel good on 1 track but if you go to totally different track then you may feel different do like it.
You may feel great on street but if you bring to track you feel so soft not good.
I have PP and I want to lower my car but want to feel the same as now. But I just cant find myself to move to changing my suspention. KW or H&R or is Blistein coming out with C63? Stock PP handling is great for me. AMG done a huge amount of test so I cant say its bad but there may be people who dont like it.
