Ok.. I don't know much about S65's.

Sorry for the picture reposts if others have already seen this. I just find it humorous to see badge engineering.

Here's another one:

ROFL

That reminds me of the time I saw a "Type R" badge on a Bimmer.

I think maybe tgibrit has done this himself at one point. Why so defensive?

i have done it myself if you mean upgrade my cars, i put the turbo wheels on my 993 cab, upgraded the exhaust, suspension, does that make me a poser? i like the wheels MB put on some of the higher line cars, if i put those on a c63, is that a poser?

i agree that putting the badges on is a little silly, but many car enthusiasts like to modify their cars, make them unique and i enjoy reading about and seeing what others do to their cars. i thought it a little harsh to call people posers.

You can't call this dude a 'poser'
What is he posing as?

Seems to me that he's posing as a very confused individual.

That or he's clearly not particularly satisfied with the performance of his ultimate driving machine.

Car guys should know that the C63 shares NO front end architecture at all with the normal C300/350. The front end is wider and longer than the non-AMG version, so it's easy to spot a poser. As for that back end.......

*facepalm*

Why people spend lots of money to attempt to "convert" a non-AMG car into a fake AMG one is beyond any of my understanding....

Should've just worked harder, saved more, and bought the real thing.

Holy SH$t, that dude with the c200 really did a good job converting it fully to the C63 looks. Yet, i still dont see the point when you get smoked at the light by a regular c300/350

I have a W211 AMG Sport and I could never bring myself to put an AMG badge on the car. I would have to turn myself in as a POSER. At one time I did have an AMG licence plate holder on it-- is that legal?

exactly - for the time and money you put into making your car an AMG-look alike, you could have an AMG w/o all the loose panels -

then again most of these AMG-wannabes are kids who get impatient and cant wait to save the dough or parents bought em a c300 which they mod litlle by little -

to each his own, but Id take a bus b4 I rode in an AMG badged non-AMG car ...

just to be clear - i have no problems with guys that do not badge their cars AMG - both MB and BMW put AMG/M packages on their cars from the factory so I have no issues with it

I agree with Pat as there are AMN or M packages delivered from the factory, but, the pictures used on this thread as examples are all POSERS, if I hurt some of your feelings too bad, that is what the majority of this population will think of you if you are one of those peoples used as examples here. LIke I stated before, If I took my wifes 2009 ML350 and changed both front and rear bumpers, put a quad AMG exhaust and slapped on the 21" AMG wheels, I am a huge poser, period, I would feel like a poser, regardless if I didnt slap on the AMG badges, to go to that extent is being and trying to have the poplulation believe you have a special vehicle, if you then slap on the badges and decals, you are also a loser.

Well, we just have different definitions of "posing" then.

I actually think most of the AMG community would disagree with you on this--the general theme is that as long as you don't have an AMG or C63 badging then you're not posing.
