Which Coilovers did you go with ?
I have my C63 with the Performance Package suspension and thinking about lowering my car. I want to go with a good reliable suspension. I was curious to know which coilover kit people go with the most. The one i had in mind was the Renntech coilovers. Does anyone have that suspension in their car and have feedback on them ? I know theres a couple of other different brands there that make it for out car. Which one would you prefer ?

To be honest! Your performance results are going to be very similar with either coilover! What is your goal? Are you trying to hit corners as hard as possible? Are you trying to lower your C63 alittle and have better handling?

I was checking out the bilstein web site and found this http://www.bilstein.de/cms_website/r...hp?page_id=217
Brabus Bulit is running on Bilstein PSS10 and Brabus Rocket has some kind of special suspension created by Brabus and Bilstein together.
Also bilsteins have a dial with 10 position (written in numbers) at the bottom of the all shock units (which should make it easier to adjust).
I'm not sure but I think that the rear KW shocks have their adjustment rings on top of the units which would be hidden behind the trunk lining and might make it a bit harder to adjust. But again I might be wrong. It would be great if someone could chime in and correct me if needed.

Well all i know is that my friend called Renntech directly and order his coilovers for his E55 and they say Renntech all over. They have the same for our car

Let see, AMG and KW joint ventured the developed the CLK63 BS suspension with 100K on the Nurburgring which is esentially the same fitment for C63. The Viper ACR has the KW.
Two manufactures going with KW and the aftermarket going with Bilstein. Unless you want a total race shock like a JRZ it's a no brainer.

JJayB,
You make a really good point. I had RENNTECH due my ECU and was thinking I would just stay with them for the coilovers as well but you can't argue with market trends. It doesn't necessarily mean the Bilstein and KW are better just because a lot of people are opting for them but it does mean that they don't suck and a lot of people like the products.
It really comes down to the price and what you are looking for, ease of adjustibility, racing setup or just to lower the car to look better.
I'm not in a rush so am just going to do more research and see what everyone has to say.

I'm running custom valved Bilsteins in my Porsche and have experience with Konis, Sachs, JRZ's, JIC, Cross,Monroe's (yes Porsche uses Monroes). If one were to base their selection on past performance the PSS9 by Bilstein were plagued by adjustment failures and didn't hold up well to even light track use. The PSS10's maybe better, but realize Bilstein is not into nitch applications as they like large production runs unlike KW which is a smaller company.
The KW has a far easier adjustment system than the Bilstein. One turn and you can feel the difference in compression or rebound which helps in set up especially if your going to track the car. That is not the case with the Bilsteins. The difference is newer technology in the KW.

Well I have nothing but positive things to say about the KW V3s. I promise if you go with these you will not be disappointed. They are the most expensive...I paid $2500 + install, however I do have the piece of mind knowing I purchased one of the best, if not the best setups for our car.

Thanks for the feedback on the KW's. It looks like the price difference may only be a couple hundred and that is not enough of a difference for me to give up adjustability and performance. I think I am leaning KW now.

Yep, in the end you aren't paying that much more (except for H&Rs) and you do get a lifetime warranty with the KWs. I'm not sure if this is true with the Bilstiens, although it very well could be.

Just ordered the KW V3's.

I am so stoked. I also got new rims and tires so will take a couple weeks for everything to come in and get installed. I'll let you know how it goes. I am stoked. Thanks for the advice.
