Charcoal filters removal experience
Hey guys~ I had some different experiece with removing charcoal filters. I tried this on my cls63 and for some reason I did not notice any power gains. The car feels like it's just reving more at given amount of throttle. The response felt more lazy to me with less grunt. I was actually confused of the outcome because this has been proven for a while to be the easiest way to get more power from our 63 engines. I ended up placing the filter back and it feels more responsive I think. It may be because I kept the stock air filters in there instead of using k&n's or may be the intake system is little different in the 09 cls63 which I doubt. Has anyone had this experiece?

I haven't removed mine on the C63 but would love to hear impressions of anyone who has.....
I think "Dad's C63"/Keith still has his charcoal filters in, and his car is so far the fastest here on the board.

I removed mine in conjuction with the VRP CF airbox install. I really noticed a difference in throttle response especially at speed. Best way I can describe it is that it felt like the motor really came to life and that it was being suffocated by the stock double filter system. Judging by the comments above I guess I should be giving the CF box more credit.
