CATS, the local MB distributor imported 3 units to sell. when the 3 units got sold, they decided to make the C63 a special order item only. The GTR is not officially imported as of yet and getting one from the States, bringing it in personally would be a major hassle. I tried looking for one in the States but at that time, they had a huge dealer markup. That plus the hassle made me give up on the GTR. Plus, you can't bet the practical nature of the C63 with it's 4 doors. i've seen GTRs exchange hands at around 150,000USD locally though. That's a lot of money for a car that basically has no dealer support. Something goes wrong with all those electronics and no one to fix it made me go for a full warranty C63.

In that same show was a orange GTR as well

Your economy must be doing pretty well for GTRs to be finding buyers... there a handful of brand new 08 Evo X out here that are stuck on dealer lots for discounted price of about 70k. Even those that are being discounted further at a big big loss at 60k are finding no buyers. There is one clk 63 black down here "Asafa Powell" but no gtr's or c63's here yet but with Bolt totaling his M3 this week you never know.

Kinda off topic... but man was that fight awesome. Pacquiao's left hook looks like it was powered by pancit, lumpia and balut.

what a great fight!
ive seen that orange gtr down the street from my house in manila the other day.
(i just got back to manila a few days ago)

man, i miss my ride. i wish i could travel with it. there are some good roads to have a nice spirited ride out here. the best thing is that u dont have to worry about the damn cops. traffic was very light this past weekend, which was very nice!

it was good even before fight day due to the long weekend!
no work and many people out of town make for great traffic conditions.
too bad it cant be like that all the time!

I never understood where all the super baller cars come from in Manila.

My best memory was when I was in high school back in the Philippines and I was hanging out at McDonald's at Green Hills late at night and a friggin Ferrari F50 decides to show up. The Ferrari Flagship car of that time was in front of my eyes!!!

My jaw literally dropped and said WTF is a Ferrari F50 doing here in Manila? Since then I heard that that guy (i forgot his name) also had a McLaren F1... this was circa 1995-ish btw.

Edit: It was Jack Enrile

Your stories of Greenhills sure bring back memories. Greenhills has changed so much since then and the parking lots that you guys hung out in are now malls or multi-level parking structures. Still, some serious machinery still show up on the occasional Friday nights.

That's what I mean, I couldn't think of driving it around. If you had the money, I'd keep it as a garage queen, take it to car shows and what not, but then there's no fun in driving it around if the streets are even worse than Cali's version of a "paved" road. But I haven't been back home in a while, so my memories of the roads are sketchy.

It was great!! Atmosphere was literally like a soccer match with the Hatton fans, but they were quickly silenced. I tried my best to out shout them, lost my voice, didn't make a dent.

The C63 or 55 car in the PI is an expensive proposition considering the tariff on imports. I can only imagine the arm and the leg the exotics are or how many people you had to bribe to get them in the PI.

PS I love driving in Manila...the only rule is there is no rules and if a cop tries to wave you to stop you keep going...
Maybe your condo is in the background here. Would be nice if I managed to grab it. I took this last December. I envy you having a nice place there.

And, back to the topic at hand, manilamerc nice ride you have there. Hope I get to see it when I go back to Manila next year. Not sure if I have actually seen an AMG in PI, but I think I saw a CLS 63 on the road to Tagaytay. It could have been a 550, but I am reasonably sure it was a 63.

Can Drive 55...see the high rise left of center with the circular helipads...the condo building is just right of it.
