Custom rims - void warranty?
I've noticed a lot of threads on MB boards recently talking about custom wheels. It's really a matter or a personal preference and a taste and I am not going to discuss it here. I really wondering about warranty issues. Let's say, God forbid, your wheel will break in pieces on the highway and as a result the car is totaled. Will the insurance company will grant your policy, will MB will even a take a blame when custom wheels are installed on the car? This car pushes a lot of torque on to rear wheels.... Just my thoughts. Don't
for it

DPE has monoblock wheels.
But to answer your question, your insurance company should still cover you. MB warranty won't cover anything because it's not a warranty issue.

Insurance should cover such an accident, because the wheels rims must meet Canadian standards to be sold here. As for MB accepting any blame.... I dont see what it has to do with them in such conditons, so no. MB is liable for there car and there parts. If you place after market parts on it, it has nothing to do with MB anymore. Also if the after market part cause fail in an MB part, then again MB will not cover it. Hope that helps!
