I changed all my car's oil every 3k or 5k depending on the service schedule.
I have a hard time accepting after 10k that the oil in that big v8 would still do its job. I finally hit 4k and I'm coming in for my 1st oil change.

These high-performance engines + full synthetic motor oil = long-lasting engines and long oil change intervals (7k-12k mi.). It is not a problem to wait until the car's computer tells you it's time, imho.

That may be true, but if you try to sell your car to a private party and they ask to see your maint. records/oil change intervals, some may balk at a car with 10K or more between oil changes. Also, does the computer take into account how "hard" you may be driving the car. You can change the oil too often after break in, but I'm still not comfortable with 10K or more between intervals.

Sorry for bumping an old thread... My dealership asked me to changed my oil at 1000km, which I have no problem & scheduled the appointment already.
But they want me to change my differential fluid as well... I don't even have LSD? If I don't change it, will it affect anything on my car? And what is the recommended KM to change the differential fluid on an non LSD car? TIA.
