Number of Miles on Strock Fronts Tires...

How many miles is everyone getting to the stocvk front tires... I'm on my 3rd set of rears and thought the front would make it until the 4th but at 15k miles they are about kicked.

They are noisey, rough, and you know finsihed...

Curious about how long others are getting...?

How did you get 30K on front
Dealer told me that you would have to change fronts when you change the 2nd set of rears....so it looks about time. I have about 10% left on rear and about 5% on front. I have about 9000 on my car. I'm thinking of changing both at 10K

Don't drive in rain....spring season here....no rain = me driving on 10% tire left. I thought you're scrounging every nickel and dime for this car....if that's the case you'll be driving with me when it's bald flat too
Actually on my rears I drove it till it was bald flat before I changed the first set.

You better believe I will be driving it till the tires literally fall off. I might just put some tire shine on the whole tire so it will have less grip. Less grip = longer tire life.

I got 30K out of the tires because I drive mostly in a stright line. hehe. I do take a few freeway ramps pretty agressive, but other than that I drive with few turns. Tread held up well. I am getting another set this month and put these to rest. Almost down to wear bars on the Inside but that is expected due to the negitive camber setup on this car. Want more life out of the tires then go with a higher treadwear like Eagle F1 AS (420) but for me NEVER would I put a hard rubber like that on the front and try to be aggersive in the turns, now that would scare me.

Thanks for the updates. 30k is unreal. At 15k my front PZero's are trashed. Its crazy how fast the Pzeros' go from slight wear to bald...

I'm will not put hard cheap tires on the fronts. I was thinking about either the Nitto NTO5 or Toyo's for the fronts. But HHughs seems to rave about the Nexen tires...

Going up to 255 but never thought an alignment would be needed???? Saw this in another thread. Thoughts?????

My fronts lasted 7,000 miles. Two weeks ago the car began pulling left and I took it into the dealer to have them check it. I suggested it was radial drag but the service advisor insisted it was an alignment issue. So they did the alignment and alas, problem was still there. They swapped the wheels from side to side and voila, the car began pulling right. Turns out the stock Pirelli's began delaminating inside and had to be replaced (free of cost). So now I have a brand new set on the front. Anyone else with such a problem?

Every C-Class benz I have gotten new out of the gate needed front end alignment. When they did the inspection on each of the C-Class cars I had, they ended up replacing all the bushings on the front end under warrenty and that corrected the pulls, and vibrations. After my C63 came in, I told them I would not take delivery of this car unless they performed a complete front end inspection and verify a 1 degree negitive camber on the car. Only after that I would accept the car. Put me out 1 day on driving it but I think it was worth it. I drove it off the lot and within 5 miles the car had a small bounce in it. Turned around Instanly and took it back. Ended up the Pirelli on the front right was out of round. I never heard of that before but oh well. They pulled a wheel off another car they had and replaced mine and now 30K later I have inside tire wear. Replacing them tomorrow with 245's. That should go with my 275's on the rear.
