C300 Rear Bumper Damage
I was rear ended by another car in a parking lot resulting in a rear bumper damage on the right side. My insurance StateFarm doesn't have a Mercedes Bodyshop in the list of their recommended bodyshops. I can still take it to a Mercedes Bodyshop but there is an extra hassle of coordinating every detail with State Farm while it is at the body shop. If I go to a recommended facility, then I don't have to worry about keeping State farm updated about the repair process.
What do you recommend? Is it better to always get it repaired in a Mercedes bodyshop or is it not that big of a deal?
Thanks.
Anyways, I don't think you really need to go to a benz body shop to do it...I'm sure anyone can do it since it seems like it's only "body" damage and they'll just replace it...yes it'll be more reputable if they're qualified as a benz body shop. My suggestion is...why not just get after market parts. Sometimes it's cheaper...like if maybe diffuser is damaged and you need a new one....go buy a CF diffuser
But I was just wondering, for such a damage, taking it to a Benz body shop has any advantages over another bodyshop.
In my personal opinion, since I baby my car so much I WOULD take it to a Benz shop instead of a "Ford" or any other one. But it comes down to how much you value your car, and how much you value your time cuz taking time to check in with State Farm will take a lot of your time.
Personally, I think that taking to a "whatever" body shop is fine since it's just cosmetic, they unbend it and order the body parts from Mercedes. But I would just rather have a person who knows more about Mercedes than Ford.
