A little quick search netted this:
On the C63 you can access the side marker assembly from under the hood.
From inside the engine bay:
1) you twist out the bulb socket (and replace bulbs to amber if you want)
2) then depress the catch to disconnect the outer piece of the cover assembly from the inside shell - I removed both of these since the new set I ordered came with both pieces.
From both inside and outside:
3) then you have to line up the new outer cover with the inner shell and snap them together - this took me a while for some reason.
4) lastly put the bulb socket back in (edit)
That's it -took me about 10 minutes on the first side, less than 5 on the other.
Realize that the left and right assemblies are not interchangable (they are stereo isomers if you will)
It's a little tight, so I suppose if you have huge hands you may have to go from wheel well. I also don't recomend doing it while the engine is hot.

So you can just go to the dealer to get these painted? Looked at the pre-painted ones available online and $150 is a little pricey imho for a little bit of paint.
Do you leave the bulb in even tho it is painted?
