anyone know how to take off the chrome trim that surrounds the grille? I tried to force the tabs open but they were on tight and didn't want to break anything..
I ended up only doing the 4 straight slats with black matte vinyl

I used a small flat head to insert between the tabs, and push out. Works like a charm.

I will definently vouch for the excellent quality stickers he makes. I've ordered several hundred from him without a single flaw.

I had no idea he did vinyl wrapping, I just painted my grille the otherday. I'm now thinking of just having him wrap it so I won't have to worry about scratches as much.

Spray paint. Turns to rubber with very fine texture. Only prep work was to wash with dish soap, wipe down with alcohol, spray multiple light coats. Finish is amazing, and very durable since it's pretty much rubberized. If you don't like it, you can peel it off.. I took all the chrome trim pieces off to do this..

ya know, matte paint on the grille tend to be VERY fragile, and are more prone to get rock chips. i had my homeboys paint shop paint my grille, and i forget exactly but they sprayed the grille with some sort of something before spraying base coat, and clear coat. the grille is semi glossy which is pretty clean, but i have not had any chips of some sort off the grille yet and ive had the blacked out grille on since March of this year.

i tried to remove my grill and i finally succeeded.. but not before scaring the crap out of myself thinking i had broke it...

fyi, taking the grill off is slightly different on the c63 than the c300/350...

and there are more chrome pieces than i had though...

i wasn't able to remove any of the chrome pieces because the main one that goes around the entire grill is held on soooooo tightly with these huge tabs... i stuck a flat head in there and it still barely budged... any more pressure and i felt they would just snap off...

i think i'll have to resort to just spraying the entire grill as is with chrome pieces still on it... anyone have experience with this?

i couldn't even remove the center star... the official DIY guide had a link to another guide with more specific instructions to remove the chrome pieces... there were these little tabs to push on with a flat head... well... after i looked at my grill, mine had no such tabs... from what i could tell, where the tabs were supposed to be there is instead pieces of black plastic melted together... the only thing i see from the back of the grill for the center star is this V shaped piece coming straight out the back of the star...
