Check Oil False Alert?

So Ive gotten the check oil level at next re-fuel light all week long - bought a case of 5w-40 M Synthetic Oil

This afternoon I went to check my oil level and it appeared to be fine. Has anyone else gotten this and found the oil level to be sufficient?

Or should I just add a quart?

has happened to me four or five times and ive had mine since january of this year .. took it to the dealer first couple times and all they do is add a quart .. usually happens after running it hard or when its really hot out , i let the warning pop up at least 10 times before adding a quart though , first couple times it pops up i check and the oil level isnt low enough for a full quart so i just wait it out until its low enough for a full quart.

Be very careful of having your dealer over filling your engine with oil. Generally, you should use the dipstick as the final indicator. Of course, you may end up with a situation where the electronic sensor thinks there is not enough oil and the dipstick says there is more than enough. And to complicate things further, there was actually a TSB for early 63 models (2007 and 2008 E63s and CLS63s) for a faulty dipstick.

I would check first that there are not TSBs regarding the dipstick for your car, then go by the dipstick indicator. If you still keep getting messages from the electronic sensor, you may have to replace the sensor.

The electronic sensor is a very sensitive unit. Just check your dipstick to make sure there is oil and you will be right.

As others have said, make sure you don`t over fill it because the sensor may tell you that you have over filled it and your light will come on again

Same thing started happening this week...
it's travelled 3000km... so early

Read about the 63 loves to drink oil >< ><
But the question now is....what oil to get and leave it sitting at home??

What oil does merc use when you buy the car?? Don't really wanna mix oil so wanna get the same one.

Australian spec C63`s are using 0W-40 Mobil 1 synthetic from factory .

I know a few C63 owners that are replacing it with 5W-40 on first oil change ,even 10W-60.

PS. My light came on for the first time last week .......2700k`s on the clock.

So i guess there's not much you can do about it.... wish there was a fix

As for the oil Muzzie...
isn't 1st oil change according to the manual like 10000km or something?! lolz
Guess time to look for 0W-40 Mobil 1 synthetic to last until the 1st service!
