She says the Merc feels like what BMWs used to feel like, with more power.

I drove the Corvette only a few times a month, she gets to drive the Merc every day
So what are you left with now? Did you part ways with the Vette?

Yea, its gone. I had just installed a ZO6 exhaust complete with vacuum actuators a few weeks before, when she spied the Merc. My main disappointment with the Vette was all the road/tire/wind noise at speed. I had collected about 80lbs of Dyna Mat which never made it to the car (ANYONE WANNA BUY SOME DYNA MAT?). So, I'm looking again. Trouble is, @ 6'4" I don't fit in a lot of fun cars. Meanwhile I get weekend visitation rights to the C63....

My girlfriend just got a C300 (she used to have an Infiniti FX35, which is a great driving SUV), but as far as female drivers go, she's great. And ever since we've been going out she's gotten a lot better. She actually listens to my advice. She's one of the few girls I've met who think of driving as an active activity instead of a passive one.

To be honest though, sometimes she drives her car faster than I drive mine (she even did that with the FX)

My wife thinks she's the Stig. I had to put a bit of effort to keep up with her B200 as I followed her home recently. Never saw a B200 move that fast before.

The wife drives a 335i with Dinan tune on it so it is plenty fast. Not as fast as the C63. She asked me once if her car was as fast as mine and I told her "No, its not as fast as my car." She had to ask why is that? I kind of laughed and thought to myself you can have a fast car as long as mine is faster. She has a heavy foot and sometimes calls to ask me if she can beat some car that wants to run her.

That's hilarious. What does she do? Tell the guy in the next lane to hang on a second while I check with my husband if I can blow your doors off?

LOL, I always laugh too. I think she will sometimes call if they are at a red light and is feeling like she wants to run. I usually tell her "There's only one way to find out if you are faster."

What kind of cars is she usually running against? I've heard those Dinan-tuned Bimmers are nothing to take lightly.

I also laughed out loud in a "you've got to be kidding me" kind of way, when I saw her take a corner at high speed, before I proceeded to follow. From my perspective, it looked like the cars that fly past the tire rack on the Top Gear test track before reaching the final corner. I have more respect for that B200 now. Unless she installed a Nitrous kit while I wasn't looking, I really don't know how it moved that fast.

If I was to name one possible place, then it would be Babson College in Mass.

Girl with the Cayenne goes to Southern Cal
All the other cars belong to girls at LMU (in LA, not Chicago)
Not that many people living outside of Cali know that alot of rich kids go to LMU

Why did she make the switch in the first place?

She is usually running against Mustangs, 350Zs, Boxsters/Caymans, etc. She did call me once to know if she could beat a vette. I laughed and told her if it doesn't have a Z06 badge on the side you might have a chance. The Dinan tuned 335s are pretty strong for a 6 cylinder car. She can surprise a lot of cars with that thing.

I guess none of you have kids hat play sports. Those cars are just good for looks, no utility at all. When you can get your wife to drive the kids everywhere because it doesn't fit in your car, then and only then are you THE MAN.

She drives a 2009 Acura MDX and it does everything that I don't want to.

My problem is she doesn't want to drive anything as big as an SUV, so if I get one, I'll end up having to drive it, which means I'll have to do whatever it is that the SUV is meant to do in the first place!
