Performance Package

Hi guys,

How can one differentiate between a car that has the performance package or not? I am saying if I look at the car from the outside how can I tell the different? I know that for CLS, the wheels are different when it is equipped with the performance package.

Thanks.

Look through the front drivers window, if it has a steering wheel with alcantara on it - it has the PP

There are some early 2009's with Perf. pkg. that only have LSD and speed de-limiter. The only way to know if you are getting one of those is to see the original sticker.

Alcantara wheel guarantees the full Perf. Pkg.

How come so few people have this option? If I had the luxury of ordering my car instead of buying one for as cheap as possible as I did, I would have gotten the performance package.

I think that's it.

It was hard for me to find a car with the PP in the color I wanted but I'm glad I got it. The car feels MUCH more stable than when I test drove a non-PP car.

I think the delimited speed was 178, uphill.
And yea wished someone "would raise the speed limit" hehehe

I just checked the monroney sticker on my car and the limiter is 174mph.

It is 186 mph for the PP on E63 and CLS63..... for the C63, it is raised to 174 mph and I'm not sure what it is on the SL63, CL63, or S63.

Yes, you are correct. I believe i was thinking of the CL because i have seen a cl63 window sticker mentioning that speed with the package. Should be paying better attention to my two favorite AMGs.

Won't the limiter be taken off if you get an ECU tune anyway?

This is easy to answer. If you have blood in your urine after driving a C63 then you have the PP (with its sportier suspension).

i have the pp package on mine and it is pretty stiff but definetly worth it in my opinion. you really do feel a lot more connected to the car and slightly more stable at times....

can we upgrade to the AMG PP suspension ? is it just spings or shocks too ? Part numbers ? I need a VIN number for a PP car to get the dealer to pull part numbers. it's annouying. I already ordered the brake rotors FYI
