Fafali,
Question for you, are you going to keep the M3 or trade it in on your new toy? If you are going to keep the M3, then get the E550 and just add a Sprint Booster to it. You'll be happy. If you are trading the M3, get the AMG C63.
The good news is that either way, you will be happy because the E550 is still powerfull @ 382 hp.
By the way, what year is your M3 and do you have the SMG or 6spd transmission?

Mercedes Benz
IMHO. both are nice cars. I think you'll be happy with either one. Both have ample room, both have great comfort, both have a luxury/sport feel, and both are upwards of 70k. The real question is do you want a coupe or a sedan. Do you want a saturn five rocket or luxury coupe that is some what quick. If I had to choose, I would for sure get the C63. That new E-class looks like a camary/lexus. And I think both interior are fine. If you want a better interior get ready to start spending 100+k.

I'm not sure about the prices being that close...was just reading in other threads where guys are getting new loaded '09's for 54-55K...that new coupe might not be discounted for a while...

I test drove the E550 coupe about a month ago. Nice exhaust note, not obnoxious, but definitely aggressive. Power is adequate, steering input is tight, suspension is firm and yet supple. The rear seat is usable, has more room than the 6-series. The interior is definitely nicer than the C63, more luxurious, as it should be.
My only concern is the fact that you'll probably see a gazillion E's on the road, given it's price point, and the fact that it will appeal to your average buyer.
The C63 is definitely much more hardcore. I've only seen 2 on the road (one belongs to a friend).
So, if you factor in exclusivity, I would go with the C63...
