Question for NV/Vegas members regarding front plates

Nevada law says if your vehicle does not offer a way to display a front license plate then you aren't required to use one.

My question is if your vehicle does allow you a way to mount a front license plate (you have a front bracket installed) are you then required to display your official license plate there or can you use it for a novelty plate (eg. European style plate) instead?

I have never had front plates on any of my cars here in the last 10 years without incident. Although none of those cars ever had brackets mounted in the front. I am concerned if I mount a Euro type bracket and plate on the front bumper Metro may ticket me and require the front bracket to be used for the actual license plate instead.

Anyone have any experience with this?

.
I would try to be inconspicous (sp?) as much as possible. I have been here for 15 years and never been ticketed for not having a plate. I once got a speeding ticket on the 215 in Henderson and NHP didn't bother to check for a front plate. Just do the plugs and be done with it.

I hear what your saying it's just since I put the Euro plate on I decided I like it better than no plate. It looks really nice (like an MB advertisement). I'm just wondering since there is a bracket in place (albeit not a US spec one) if cops would see the car is equiped for front plates and ticket me because I'm not using my NV plate.

It seems like kind of a gray area. It might just depend on the cop.

Ok I'll make three new C63 owners from Las Vegas in a row
The vehicle did not come equiped with a front mounting bracket, therefore you can't be ticketed. I would think that if the cop was a real you no what seeing you went through the trouble of adding a bracket then in their mind it should be a US spec one and therefore should contain the Nevada plate. Just my opinion if he was looking to pin something on you.
