I bought an oil filter at the dealer just to have it around for an interim oil change...and was pretty surprised when they told me $30! So I called Pelican Parts where I buy my BMW consumables and they are sending me six Hengst oil filters for the C63 for $78 inc. shipping, plus CA tax.

Wayne Dempsey’s Pelican Parts provides attentive service and OEM hardware at a fair price.
His lovely will call lady makes their free shipping superfluous for locals. :)
Hosts an excellent Porsche forum, too.

Thanks! I just put them in my favorites. I need to pickup a six-pack of filters to do interim changes as well. How does Hengst compare to Mann? I keep a stock of Mann filters for my C320.

I've used Hengst, Mann and Mahle air and oil filters interchangeably. I've done UOA's using each brand and have not noticed any differences in the results to speak of. Note that the C63 filters are not listed in the PP website yet so you'll have to call that order in.
