Bye Bye C63
The Honda "stealer" wants to give me $43K for it, trading it in on a '10 Odyssey. It's had the rear bumper replaced and paint blended on the rear left passenger door. KBB.com shows $48K in excellent condition. My rationale is that if I buy without trading I'm gonna drop another $2K.
Anyone have any recent auction prices on 08's? Any info/suggestions on a fair trade value would be much appreciated. It's an 08 with 18.500 miles.

Jikjak-
I'm thinking I'd be looking for $48K - $50K private. Not sure I want to do the legwork to move it.

Hard to say whether you are getting a good deal at $45K, as this depends on how much you are getting the Honda for. Although with the $7,500 incentive MB was offering on the '09's, those cars were not exactly flying off the shelves (though many were moved). Plus, we're coming up on the fall season and the demand for high performance sedans will decline as Nov/Dec. rolls around.
Have you considered waiting until spring to make this deal? You may likely get a better deal on the C63 (adjusted for depreciation), and we all know the Hondas are not going to swing in price. In fact, by the spring some dealers may still have '09 Hondas that they'd move for an even better price.

Good luck with the sale, just be careful with Honda dealers, they sell a lot of cars and are masters of trying to rip you off.

My recommendation to anyone looking to buy a car that has a trade is: negotiate the price of the new car first -- don't let the dealer know you have a trade. Then, bring the trade into the equation. If you have a great relationship with your dealer, and you trust them, than not necessary for the above.

My brother just bought a Odyssey for his wife for their gaggle of kids. It is a nice minivan. To be honest though, I was shocked to see those things hit near 40k.

Though to be honest, if I was forced in that situation, I would look no further than a R63, especially how cheap they are.
Selling privately I figured I would ask for $48-$50K expecting to get $45-$46K, so all things being equal the tax credit balances it out.

I hate the salesperson/sales manager dance. I ended up just shooting them an offer and telling them I had to wrap it up in 30 min because I had to play tennis. They let me take it to play and I'm going in this AM to finalize. The title was clear so I'm getting close to 10K. I remember being pissed for a week when the car was scratched...parking lot culprit. It was less than 2 months old. I knew it would come back to bite me.
Just keeping my fingers crossed that I can plot the right course to the McLaren P11 in 2012. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2_VCFVVanw

lol, I have 2 little ones and just love it when they kick their dirty shoes on the back of my AMG seat
! Only thing that made it okay was the 2 black Recaro child seats in the back to make it look "cool." Definitely agree w/ the plan though -- one minivan (mine's a '08 Town & Country) and the other(s) are your toys!! Anything new on the '10 Odysseys, btw (can't believe I'm asking that on a C63 board, sorry)?

seriously from an amg to a minivan, you must truly love your kids
