What you have labeled as the resonators are the primary cats, what you have labeld as the primary cats are the secondary cats, and what you have labeled as the secondary cats are the resonators. Hope it all makes sense now

I am having my ecu flashed with K2 next week at a San Digeo shop. So assuming this is successful, it should mean you can drive in, get a flash (provided the file is available from the tuner) and drive out.

You mean the Kleemann K1 ecu flash? The K2 package also includes DPs (headers) and an airbox I believe as well as the K1 ecu flash. Also, AFAIK, all Kleemann ecu flashes must be done at the Kleemann USA HQ in CO, so any "shop" must still remove your ecu and ship it out to Kleemann for flashing; they cannot flash your ecu at their shop.

Yes that is true.... Same day ECU tuning is available as long as the vehicle arrives before noon, so that kleemann has enough time to tune the ecu file and return it back to us via email.

I already have the K1 package (ecu flash) and wanted to upgrade to the K2 package (headers and ecu flash - it does not include an airbox AFAIK). My understanding is that the K1 flash and K2 flash are different. As I said before, Cory @ Kleeman seems ok with having the flash done onsite in San Diego and James at ACGSD stated (in this thread) that it would be possible.

This is good news for those that do not want to deal with removing the ecu and a three day turnaround (it went very smoothly for me but I think everyone would prefer a "while you wait" flash done on the same day.

total time from start to finish is roughly 2-3 hours depending on how fast Kleemann gets the tuned file back to us.

Let me know if you would like to schedule a time to come down to San Diego.

LP, go to EuroRev in Inglewood. I went by their shop to remove some kit pieces off an Audi of mine and they had a C63 stripped and getting the widebody treatment.

Call and ask for Vincent and tell them Max/Sheena referred you. He's the co-owner and will sit down to address any concerns you have.

In front of that you should see the secondary cats on each pipe, and even farther up should be the primary cats which you might not be able to see looking underneath the car. A lot of people replace the resonator with an X-pipe, but I've been told the C63 actually has an H-pipe underneath that metal shroud...hence why I never bothered to change it since it is similar to an x-pipe. (and now I especially won't considering I want the car quieter, not louder lol)

It took me awhile to understand all the components on the C63 exhaust, but I think I have everything figured out now haha.

EDIT: Check this link out...good picture of the stock exhaust, and a modified one with straight pipes. https://mbworld.org/forums/3369538-post12.html
Thanks...all this explains it quite well. I think I will keep my exhaust stock for right now; maybe sometime in the future will I possibly consider replacing the resonator with straight pipes. I have to think about Soldier's C63 which sounds so incredible just with the straight pipes (resonator removed).
