secondary cats

guys are there any gains from the removal of the secondary cats? someone told me that although throttle response may be better there is a loss in power because of loss of pressure in the back...

Renntech sells a straight pipe insert that is good for 10hp for removing secondary cats.

Yeah but don't they charge like $2450 for it?, Just about any exhaust shop can do the job for $150 tops.
