I honestly don't know of any other car in the wrold with more power and less tire size, the C63 is a big looser on this department. You can tahnk the engineers. This car should had never leave the factory with no less than 275 or 285 tires(at least).

A huge +1 on the proper rear tire sizing. A 255 on the rear for 443 ft-lbs of torque? The only reason for this decision had to be a move by the marketing department and not the engineers. Because as a casual car enthusiast, even I can tell you a 255 isn't going to support the power this engine produces. I just recently switched to 275 width rear tires and the difference is night and day, the car can actually put the power down now.

In terms of other comments on the car.. Like others have said, the gas mileage on this thing is to be expected (but it is nice to know that I am probably driving one of the last big displacement NA engines on the road). On long road trips, the C63 is a monster on the highway and you'll really cut down on travel time if you feel like cruising somewhat over the posted speed limit. I usually resort to this because even though the seats are quite supportive, their sporty nature is a bit tiring on the lower back after a few hours of driving. Reliability-wise, I have not had one problem related to anything on the car, engine or otherwise. The car does seem to like oil though and I've had to add oil more often than I am used to in the first 8,000 miles. Can't think of any other comments or qualms for now but if anyone has any other questions feel free to PM, as I see the OP has already made his decision. ;)

Are the C 63's known to use oil or is this just a fluke? Do you constantly have to add oil? Anyone else with this issue?

I change oil every 5000 and have never had to add oil. Like any car, if you do a lot of hi-rpm driving it will use more oil. The fun of revving up the M156, which makes power all the way to redline, might lead the driver to drive more aggresively. :v: its oil usage is nothing out of the ordinary though. My car has been rock solid.

10K problem free miles here! About ready for a new set of rears though :D

23,000 miles in 19 months and no issues.

I'm at over 14k miles now recently checked the oil and added about a quart since oil change about 3k miles ago. Well I did go to the drag strip and ran about a dozen times. Happy motoring!

13k here and no problems at all. Car runs like a champ and i like to drive it everywhere.

Just past 10k miles, car getting stronger, burning less oil. No issues so far, other than being rear ended, causing 16K in damages, and having to hire a lawyer to be properly compensated...

7800 miles right now still on my factory original oil(haven't done an oil change yet). Had to put one quart of oil at the 5800 mile mark or so, again, original oil from factory. Went through my first rear set of POS pirelly at 5600 miles to find out the dealer over inflated them badly.

Really looking forward for that first oil change however servioce advisors encourages me to not do the oil change until the 10000-12000 miles. Positively reporting a significant improvement on the gas mileage after replacing the stock air filters with a set of K&N plus removing charcoal filters.

Sometimes the power steering doesn't work properly, when pulling from parking lots it feels as if the steering rack isn't working. The car seems to weight much more than was I have seen reported on magazines, took the car to a local NHRA dragstrip calibrated/certified track and it is very close to 4000lbs (3960lbs with 3/4 of a tank) , weighted the car in two different times.

Sorry to hear that. Don't lose the hope. Ex-coworker got recently rear ended and after about a year he got $80000. His Honda Accord was rear ended to the point that his car rear ended another car which rear ended another car.

Sounds like STI fun time no?

Not sure I would call it "fastest 63 amg offers". The C63 is a great car, but I can think of at least 2 other 63s that are quicker/faster than the C63: one is the E63, which in stock form, is still "slightly" quicker/faster than the C63. The best stock E63 run was 11.95 @ 118. My car did the 1/4 mile in 12.1 at almost 119. The other car is the CLK63 Black Series, a car that is actually quicker/faster (whether stock or modified) than the C63.
