I don't have the performance pack on my C63 AMG and i understand part of the package is an 'AMG Performance steering wheel'.
Is this wheel a smaller diameter than the standard wheel (and thicker)?

Same wheel just alcantra inserts instead of leather.

I have the steering wheel you're talking about and am on my 3rd one - because I'm a fussy bugger I complained when the alcantara on the first two had little ridges in them! Given the cost of the option that the steering wheel was part of, I expected it to be perfect - luckily, my dealer agreed and replaced them until a perfect one came along!

In case you're thinking of upgrading...each one the dealer replaced had an invoice value of over £1k +vat - utter madness and at that cost I'm glad I insisted on perfection!

You'll notice, much as I did, that the C63 wheel is thinner than an equivalent BMW M-sport one!

That was actually my 1st impression, what a skinny large steering wheel.
So your saying the upgrade is exactly the same diameter/thickness but just better quality material?
If thats the case i'll pass on the 1k upgrade!

It actually doesn't feel to bad now i've got my seat/steering adjusted better, that makes all the difference and takes me a week or so for it to feel right.

Thanks for the pic. Maybe its an optical illusion but your pic looks a smaller/thicker wheel than my stock one.

Mmm....strange feedback on the size of the wheel!

I actually thought the AMG wheel was very small in diameter, thinner than the BMW M-Sport one yes, but smaller in actual size. It must be an illusion caused by the thinner rim??
