2013 ML63 AMG PP
It was nice. I especially liked the end as the SLS slows down and you hear the engine growling down then the final pop of the gullwing doors. Those gullwing doors are going to make it the must have car amongst those with the disposable income for these high end super sports cars.

Scissor doors (lamborghini doors) while cool, can be retrofitted to almost any car, but gullwings are almost impossible to duplicate and therefore quite exclusive!

I really like that car, apparently the price here in canada is $198,000.00 not bad considering the Audi R8 V10 is just over 200k.

So, i remember everyone saying that MB should actually test if the SLS can really drive on the top of a tunnel upside-down due to downforce, but this is NUTS.

Anyone know if this is real or CG?

CG.

The lubrication system in a 4 stroke engine gets all kinds of screwed up when upside down, which is the reason no one has proved the "driving upside down in a tunnel we have so much downforce" point.

On another note, if I bought an SLS and tried that and it could't do that, I'd be disappointed. False advertising

Actually R8 V10 starts at 173 000$ bone stock. Not bad for a baby lambo.

Some 2009 used on trader for around 165 000$ canadian.

Not so sure about the nose of the SLS.

I think what would keep the sls upside down in this case is not aerodynamic downforce, but centrifugal force, which would do the same to the oil in the engiene making it possible to work upside down.

Cool nonetheless but I think that is physically impossible. You'd would roughly need about 5k lbs of downforce plus that to match centrifugal force. Keep in mind that while on the lateral walls there is no downforce so until the car reaches the top of the ceiling it would most likely fall. I don't what is the conclusion?!?

SLS is also a dry-sump oiling system, which should help...

This is possible... it's only climbing a wall for a quick fraction of a second and then coming down.

Driving upside down for any length of time... that's a whole different world and by the looks of the weight vs aero on the SLS. I'm guessing not.

Not really, search for the Fifth Gear video where the guy goes fully around the loop at less than 50mph.

Ya, I cant see them ever pulling a stunt like that with 3 guys standing in the tunnel as the car goes past them. But still, it was an awsome video.

+1

Absolutely no way would they go to the lengths they did to concept, shoot and produce this piece and then have the actual stunt be fake. Obviously a lot of work went in to how to pull it off, that's what the entire piece is about (although tarted up to look pretty) What fails is that so many people think it IS fake... I'm sure the marketers feel

BTW I think it rocks!
