Tempomat (cruise control) not working message

Tempomat (cruise control) not working message
This morning I went out for shopping. I used the cruise control (tempomat) for this trip.
When I got back In the car and I started it, I had a message that the cruise control was not working in the info cluster.(tempomat not working)
When I tried to use the cruise with the stick, I got the same message: cruise not working.
I stopped the car 30 minutes later. When I started the car again, the cruise was working again. no more message.
Wonder if this has happened to any of you. 1st time for me.
Only thing that I could see causing that would be either;
1. really cold weather or
2. I stepped on the brakes pretty hard while on the cruise control.
Any possible explanations?

havent had this message but i know that sometime i pull the lever to engage it and it just wont go on. maybe i pulled instead of pressed it? dont know because ive probably only tried this twice
