Question Mercedes & Brake Changes

This might be a re-post and my apologies if it is but I haven't been able to find the original topic where this was briefly discussed.

I had read here or in another forum that Mercedes replaces brakes within the first 2 years of owning the vehicle for free. Is that true or false?

Thank You!

I wish that was true, but I highly doubt it.

The warranty booklet even lists pads and rotors as NOT being covered, since they are considered normal maintenance.

I believe it's within the first 10k miles, anything brake-related (other than normal wear and tear) will be warrantied. Recently, I just had my rear pads replaced due to squeaking and they found "cracks and pits" in the rear pads. My car had 1200 miles on it.

Mercedes were replacing pads free or charge, if and only if yor car met a certain criteria. Which was excessive brake dust, or squeaky brakes. I had them change the rear pads on my 09 C300, due to brake dust. ti was so much so, that the rear wheels would get coated, and the front wheels were still clean. Mercedes released a TSB, on this issue. At first, they didn't want to take action on it, but after complaining numerous times to two different dealerships, I finally got tyhe shop foreman to obligue me.

I have the opposite problem issue with mine. The fronts shed more break dust than the rears and sometimes squeak during normal drives.

Thanks for the quick replies guys, much appreciated.
