Washing my Car ..
(First of all excuse for my lack of grammar/punctuation but is just the way i type online)
I know theres a thread about Auto Car wash, however my question is
If i take my car to those self wand washing places, is it safe for my paint providing that i dont use that brush thats provided and stick to just blasting my car with the wand ??
I ask this because in Alberta I can't exactly hand wash my car in the winter lol and 2 days since picking up my car combined with +4 weather is already dirty.

If you are going to touch the car with nothing but a jet of water then it should be ok. The only thing you need to ask, is the water recycled and if so, how well filtered is it. I’ve heard of owners peppering their cars with grit where the water wasn’t clean enough.

If they use a lot of salt in your area and the water is recycled then it will be full of salt residue. The other thing is don't get too close to the car with the wand. The pressure goes up substantially the closer you get to the tip. Keep back at least a foot or two. I prefer the brush-less car wash at the Shell station here for removing winter dirt and salt. Well, really, I use it all year long. It does not cost much more and you get to sit and enjoy the show. The rinse water is also clean and not recycled.
Dirt in the spray would definitely be a bummer and we have lots of grit put down on the roads here.
