Need Help On Lip

Will a tapping screw hold the weight of a front lip on a highspeed?
just 3 screws...1 on each side and 1 at the middle. Im asking this question coz the lip is not on top of any part of the bumper or not holding into something , just underneath the bumper and just screws!

I think I saw a thread on this.

Maybe do a search on lips.

I know a guy put in 15 screws to hold it tight.

Some use double side tape for cars.

Some also use clips for the srews to screw into.

3M and tapping screws on the left right and middle will hold. I have the tape and screws and i fly on the highway with the wind blowing towards my car.

.
I don't three self-tapping screws is enough to secure it down if you regularly go 100+. It might eventually wear loose. Don't forget you may be bumping into things on the bottom which would also loosen it. I would use three machine screws with a nut & washer behind each one.

Pare, From the pix of your car/lip ..I think the lip is in contact with your bumper thats why you dont have a problem. Kinda scared here like "mayweather" you know!!!

no more AMG
I would help, but I have no idea as I don't have on my car. From the picture, I might try using some stainless carriage bolts, washers, and nylon nuts at the end to make sure it doesn't come off at high speed. I wouldn't trust any part on my car thats secured to plastic with a self tapping screw, especially at high speeds. I couldn't imagine it flying off on a staight away on Laguna Seca or something. If your doing that just make sure you don't crack the CF. Sincity had a good idea with the sheet metal screws also. Hope that helps

carraige bolt

Nylon Nut

Nice looking ride by the way

Yeah, I second the suggestion of nuts and fender washers on the back side. I'd also definitely use more than three. Like, maybe three per side to start...

Love the lip, BTW. Much better than the Revozport snowplow.

I as use some 3M tape where you can. Nuts and bolt on the ends, and a self tap in the middle. BTW, where is the rest of the lip? Thats just the center of the Carlsson style lip.

I did'nt get it coz I want FRP on the main piece and paint it black and CF on this piece... IMO its too much CF if its both.

I think the reason why the Revozport looks like a snowplow coz its too much carbon fiber thats why it looks really big...I might keep the revozport too and just paint the top part black and leave the bottom part CF.

heres the pix again....IDK maybe if i paint the top part it will look part of the car

PS....after you guys are done photoshoping the canadian guy with the lambo can you guys photoshop this pix..top part black! thanks.

Ebay and its really easy to remove coz the slots at the bottom is not connecting to the ear slot from the bumper.

Looks very good. What did you end up using to secure it? 3M or self tappers or nuts and bolts?
