Michelin Pilot Sport Cup on C63 anyone?
I have the PS2 on the rear now but used the MT ET Streets when I went to the drag last weekend..
With the MT's under hard acceleration you can feel the rear grab the road so much so that the front end raises up.
Most say the NT05 is like a cross between an Invo (Max. Summer) and an NT01 (R-Compound Road Race). The reviews online (there are a ton of them if you Google "Nitto NT05 Review") say this tire is the perfect blend of street and track.
They are also much lighter than the Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec.
NT05
245/40-18 = 25lbs
275/35-18 = 28lbs
Star Spec
245/40-18 = 27lbs
275/35-18 = 32lbs
I didn't think there was such a big wieght difference possible for two tires that are the same size.
Would that mean that one is less resistant to punctures or has less tread depth??
A good on track review between the two -> http://www.trackhq.com/forums/showpo...95&postcount=1

1010Tires has the same 32-lb weight in their catalog -> http://www.amazon.com/35R18-Dunlop-D.../dp/B002RMT96A

Just by looking at the thread, you would expect the nitto nt 05 to outperform the dunlop star spec by quite a margin...when in fact it didn't.
Star spec look quite amazing.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Wow those nt-o5 really stick.

Just wondering with their shalow tread how they would perform for a DD car (my C63) when it's wet versus the star spec?
Would the nt-05 be all over the place when it's wet?
Many were quite happy with the performance in the rain. Some not so much.
I'll know first hand in a few weeks when my wheels get here.
Nitto nt05 looks awesome but not so sure about late night spring and fall driving.
But is it possible that even in colder temperature, 40s 50s, the nitto would grip better that a high performance 4 season tire like the michelin pilot sport a/s plus?
I wish my wheels would get here already . . .
See above.

I may add 15 and 12 mm spacers front and rear to push the tires out to the fender. The stock offsets are a bit too conservative IMO.
I hardly used them and they have plenty of tread left. I need to measure them to see exactly how much tread they have.
If anyone is interested please PM me and ill measure the tread and give you the details.
They should no doubt be less than 80%.
Size : 275/35/18
No repairs done to them.
thanks.
