Have had a V1 for many years and has served me well!! However, there are some nice features on the 9500 series that I like that are not available on the V1......

I have two 9500 IX. To me there was no contest, Valentine is older than my grandmother, the new 950IX has way too many newer feautures like GPS, redlight cameras, photo locations, etc.

Has anyone had the V1 "stealth" install where the display is through the rear view mirror and/or instrument cluster? I've seen pics on the web from some outfit in West Palm Beach, I think, that has done this and it looks really good. I think it also has integrated laser jammers??

never tried to passport, but the gps feature is appealing. i have 2 V1s. have also considered getting laser jammers/blinders... which is almost the whole package because i'm not sure.
radar/laser detector - detects radar and detects laser (virtually useless)
laser jammer/blinder - jams/blinds laser, radar will help detect, jammer jams it and you slow down
?????? - instant on radar. such as instant on K or Ka band. nothing can be done here right?

A bit off-topic, but last night I picked up my 6.3 from MB of Buckhead who installed a 9500ci. I thought about buying it off Amazon and installing it myself, but after seeing what those guys did, I am glad to pay the extra few hundred $. Beautiful install - they even mounted the GPS receiver inside the driver's side A pillar - I never would have thought to do that. Except for the laser shifters (which are hard to see in the front), it is a total stealth install.
Excellent, excellent work. Glad I sprung for the 9500ci.
