Car in Production

My dealer informed me that his MB dealer site informs that my C63 w/ P31 is now in "production."
He was not clear as to the meaning of this information, i.e. is it slated for production or actually in production.
Does anyone have experience with this information, or the time frame on delivery at this point, assuming no snags to the East Coast USA
Thanks

My dealer said that once there was a build date, within 30 days from there. When did you order it?

Ex. My car has a production slot the 3rd Decade of April. That is sometime between April 21st to the 30th of April. It will then be sent for shipping which can take from 10 to 14 days depending on the boats schedule to pick the cars up. So I can expect my car in the first 15 days of May and maybe as early as April 30th but unlikely. Later I will receive an actual built date in the 3rd Decade and then I will be able to narrow down the delivery date to 10 to 14 days from that date. I think that gets it to these shores and then it has to clear port and be shipped to your dealer destination which may take up to another 7 days or so depending on location and day of the week it arrives.

Many thanks.. I made this deal via the internet. Tomorrow I am planning to stop by the dealer for the first time and view his on line data. Maybe I can determine what "decade" I am in

That's strange because when I ordered one in February, they told me that no C63s were going to be made in April! The best I could do was a late-May build.

I am in Canada so it might be a little different for allocation. I ordered my car February 1st and received an allocation a couple of weeks later. Then later I received a production slot in the 3rd decade of April. I have till March 23rd to make any changes to my order although they can close that option earlier sometimes. When I placed my order the dealer figured it would be for an April slot but he did not know for sure which decade or if it would be for April production or not. It takes a while after the order is placed for an allocation to be made and then a while after that for a production slot to be made. The dealer has to go on info they get from MBUSA and past experience. It is possible all the US April production spots were taken by the time you visited your dealer. Soon they will not be taking any more 2010 orders and you will have to wait for 2011 production and will not receive your car until it can be released even if it has been constructed. For me that would mean missing most of the season, and due to the timing of events that made this possible, I am sticking with 2010 but soon it will be time to buy a 2010 car off the lot or place an order for 2011.
