C63 DD
Checked the prior forums but found no up-to-date answers so forgive me for asking. Drove a E550 Coupe and C63 this AM. Yes they are different cars, liked them both, and the C63 power is unreal. E550 is powerful, not like the C63 but refined. Two different cars-both great in their own ways. I am leaning heavily towards the C 63 at this point. I would be using it as a daily driver and would like to hear comments about using the C 63 as a DD. I understand that I can tune the E 550 with Renntech to increase HP and torque. Thanks for any input.

C63
My 5 cents. I've carried two adults very comfortably in the back of my C63 so that should not be a factor in your decision. Pick the one you like driving best. you will get better gas milage with the E.

Yep, had a big smile when I hit the gas on the C 63. In a small town of about 15k and have a 15 minute drive to work. That is another consideration for me too as the commute anywhere is relatively short. I guess the E coupe easier ride keeps me confused. Also never had a sedan in the forty years of driving too. Maybe a mental thing but the power/roar of the C 63 makes me forget its a sedan. Just me and the misses. Kids off to college and I can't recall anyone sitting in the back seat of any of my other coupes.

i now use the C63 as my daily driver since the wife uses the ML. No problems for me. I did have to get new tires at 6000 miles. I am with everyone else, i look forward to driving it every day and since i have the multi-spoke rims now, the car looks even better.

c63, prius
drove only 2000kms....big smile everytime when i put in "S" mode and saw the rpm go above 2000rpm....then the roaring sounds increase from the exhaust ......the issues i have is i am 6'1", and the back seat will only fit a child, have to handwash or goto touchless car wash, and very hard to maintain speed limit on freeway!

Decided!
Well after driving both on Saturday and after all the comments here I am going for the C 63. Think I will regret it if I don't. Now have to decide-Palladium Silver vs Steel Grey. For those that have the Steel is there a hint of blue in it? Like both colors but my S5 had about the same color as the Palladium and may want to change up. Black is great, had my share and as long as they are clean fine.

just know you will need tires rather quickly. me... im using the C63 as a weekend/fun secondary vehicle. when i need a new daily driver im going to try to pick up a 4matic E gently used. wont need 550 power so ill be willing to take whatever gets the best mileage. but i drive 100 miles round trip four days per week to work. enjoy!!! either color will be great. its personal preference at that point. i would however stay clear of black if you are **** and you drive it every day. JMO.

Thanks to everyone for your help and advice. Hopefully in a small town and only 15 minutes to work, I won't go thru tires to fast. Thanks again to all!

DD
Wife got a C63 w/PP for DD a few months ago...... and I got the CLK55 for DD a week ago...... I much prefer the CLK for DD duty....... easier on the body more luxurious for me........ BUT if you're a bugs in the teeth guy go for the C63..... it has low end tq like nothing else I've driven.
My vote would be to get the E coupe and add the kleeman. That's what I'll be doing to my CLK.... so I get the best of both worlds.
