I don't know where ANY shop would do a wrap for $1200-1500, but if there is, I would LOVE to know who/where/what materials.

Proper Oracal will last at least 5-6 years if done RIGHT and cared for properly.

I'm curious, do you (or anyone) have photos of a vinyl wrapped car that's simply 1-2yrs old?! These claims of 5-6 years lifespan for the wrap, I'm wondering how this claim is possible since vinyl car wraps haven't really been out that long? Don't the edges start to pull up, bubbles, rock chips, etc...just seems like a 12mo deal at best. Peeps selling their cars pretty quickly after wrapping it, or taking it off quickly. There's $2k down the tube pretty quickly.

I'm just gonna take a guess and say vinyl wrap hasn't been around for a few years, but maybe a decade or two or three. There's no bubbling, chipping, peeling if it's installed properly.

I'm gonna guess and say vinyl wrapping an entire car (as a paint job alternative) has only become popular over the last few years since the bada$$ 3m vinyl. The cheap bill-board-mobile vinyl wraps have been around forever, and they tend to look like crap pretty quickly.

For show cars, I get it--easy way to attain a matte finish or any other color you want. These cars are hardly driven.

So, if you'd like to provide a photo of a car (ANY car) with a vinyl wrap that's 4-5yrs old with 30k+ miles on the wrap, I'd like to see it and see the edges. If they've been popular for "2-3 decades" it shouldn't be too difficult.

BTW are you implying that vinyl wraps are immune to rock chips? I don't see the point in wrapping a car w/a $2000 skin to have it pitted, and compromised if you happen to drive it on the freeway at any point.

So vinyl wrapping has been around forever, but only 3m vinyl wrap is been around for a few years.....ok. Nothing is immune to rock chips just depends how big the rock is, but it'll be pennies to change versus paint. And find your own pictures. I got vinyl wrap on my car for almost 2 years and over 25k miles still looks new.

Maybe you didn't get the memo, but forums like this are supposed to be helpful. Grab your camera, get your *** off the couch, and go take some pics. OR just shut up.

In the kind words of Amdeutsch, STFF, there are hundreds of vinyled cars at various ages of life. My own car still looks brand new after 2 years 25k miles, no need for pictures, there's nothing to see.

No but in all seriousness, if you get a moment GHAZAN, could you please take a few pics of your wrapped car? Some of us would really like to see how it looks to get an idea of the job and the fitment.

Thanks a lot...

I'm sure you'll figure this out eventually noob, but we ARE here to help each other out and not to be so obtuse with every question or request. There IS a need for pictures because several of us have asked for them as a courtesy to us who are considering vinyl wrapping our cars ...maybe there's nothing to see b/c you're full of it?

First you argue about how long vinyl wraps have been around, then you say get your own photos, and now you reveal that your car isn't even a full vinyl wrap...whatever.

People like you annoy the crap out of the rest of us, who are here to HELP each other.
