80mm TB on the 63, a New Approach

Saw on a Taiwan forum and tuner there has a brand new approach to 63 tunning on a 80mm TB which I have not seen anyone else done. Not sure if these are custom bored-out or the 80mm AMG part which the 55 guys has been using. The bad part is that 63s needs 2 of them.

Corrected, Kleemann has done it already as pointed out by Barry below

Stock TBs are twin 74mm, that's 1400cfm of flow.*
On it's BEST day a bolt-on 63 AMG will ingest 725 cfm, H/C maybe 800cfm, so we have the right sized TB's already.*
Also pointing out that kleeman is selling those TBs without any objective proof of any hp or tq gains!

I see where you are going with this. But....if the stock TBs never open at 100%, even with a tune, I wonder if the larger TB will simulate a 100% 74mm TB opening?

I agree with this guy! We aren't talking about a FI motor.

It would be part of the K3. Claiming 10hp and 14tq gain to the crank.

AMG
Throttle bodies are always the last modification you do on an NA motor... you should do everything else possible before hand (full exhaust system, ECU, Intake upgrades, the works, etc). Save your money for other modifications first.

There are only really a handful of 63s on the planet with enough mods to justify doing these BBTBs.

With that said... they do sound amazing

I do believe that only MHP, MKB and Brabus tunes allow
100% opening*of the TB's.

Agreed. Unless the car is very heavily modded, the larger TB may not be worth it
