335I In the Dust
So I was getting my morning coffee at the Dunken Donuts on my way to work this morning and as I was pulling out of the parking lot to get back on the 2 lane highway (Route 202 Flemington, NJ) and continue my drive to work, and a Silver 335I was also backing out of his parking space at the same time, and I drove right past him and out to the curb to make my right hand turn into the right lane - it was clear behind and ahead on the highway, and he comes barelling out of dunkin donuts right behgind me and immediately in the left lane clearly coming after me and I'm doing about 60 in the right lane ahead of him and I see him getting closer coming hard, so Im in C mode and I get on it a little and the tranny shifts down one gear and acceleratin and I see he's still getting closer almost catching up to me and I simply floored the beast in C mode, dowshift from like 5th to 3rd and put 1/4 mile between him and I in a flash.. I know I'm being dramatic , but it was awesome and one of the best encounters I've had with my beast... Just knowing how this car can just come alive in a split second and exploiting its attitude, it just puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it.

My C63 with K&N filters, a mixture of 94-95oct and some weight reduction ran a 12.9@110.5. at 3100ft
My 07' 335i with also K&N, Procede V 1.4 (3 years ago) and a pair of BF goodrich ran 12.71@110.69 at 3100ft
That 335i was stock for sure. The C63 weight around 3950lbs and has more power but the 335i weights much less and the engine is underrated. A 335i with a simple Juice Box and maybe a set of downpipes will equal the C63.
Stock(except K&N filters) my C63 trapped 109mph, stock my 335i trapped 103mph so I can see you pulling on him on the hwy.

Thanks, man...best car I've ever owned/driven! Last Dec., I trapped 115mph in my C63 AMG...with almost bald rear street tires; got a horrible launch and a 2.048 sec. 60ft...managed to run 12.4 sec. @ 115mph. However, I'm confident that with better rear tires, I could get that launch down to a 1.9x sec. 60ft. and run ~ 12.0-12.1 sec. @ 116-117mph.
These other guys w/ DPs, DRs, and such are running mid 11's @ 120-124mph.

a tune-only C63 ran 12.4 to 12.5 @ 113 to 114 mph
a tune + Kleemann headers C63 ran 12.0 to 12.1 @ 114 to 115 mph
a tune + Evosport headers and exhaust system ran 12.1 to 12.4 @ 117 to 118 mph
The 335s are quick and can sometimes surprise you on the street or track.

I couldn't tell if you are being serious or being sarcastic. a 12.9@10.43 in Tucson at 3100ft altitude equals to 12.4@114.5 at sea level, just use the official NHRA altitude conversion chart and you will see.
http://www.nhra.com/competition/altitude.aspx
There are no other C63 nearby that I am aware off that have taken their cars to the track so I really couldn't tell if my car is that slow or not. All I know is that Camaros SS and C6 (LS2)vettes car hardly run low 13's and trap 105-106 here locally.
I don't know where you ran but if you ran near sea level your car would run an estimated 11.8@118 mph here in the high desert.

A little of both with no disrespect in mind I don't no the formula but if a tune only 335 kept up with your # there's something wrong granted they make m3s look stupid but I've been up against many worked 335 on the street and on the track.

Let's not even start with vettes I ran 5 times against a c6 new 435 hp motor with some airfilter and on tires at Mir and he bested a 12.6 I ran a 11.91 that day tune and tires only

[QUOTE=MB_Forever;4074508]At Famoso Raceway last November, a 335 coupe with an aggressive juicebox tune, race gas, drag radials ran 11.8 @ 118 to 119. In comparison, on the same exact day with same track conditions,
a tune-only C63 ran 12.4 to 12.5 @ 113 to 114 mph
a tune + Kleemann headers C63 ran 12.0 to 12.1 @ 114 to 115 mph
a tune + Evosport headers and exhaust system ran 12.1 to 12.4 @ 117 to 118 mph

I only can comment on what I do and see that evosport tune headers and exhust seems kinda week! Like I said I can only comment on what I no but these other c63s seem a bit slow but who am I. I no that mthis ran like a 12.2 stock on stock tires and him and I ran all day last month sub 12s to mid 11s like it was our job with speeds of 121-124 ??? Don't no

I definitely think this was a stock 335I that I torched, but it could also be a situation that the driver did not have the kahones to keep up the pace as I hit about 97 when I looked down at my spedo before I backed off. He certainly came on quick, but either didn't have the kahones or the power to keep up.

It depends the location and the temps. You wouldn't run that in altitude. For many people in the Esat coast yeah I can see that happening but each track is different, the altitude kills your times.

There will be a big difference in times depending on DA. Next time the weather warms up and the DA reaches +3000 see how fast your car will run. You will soon see what some of these others guys experience in not so great conditions. I've never ran at MIR but from what I've heard and seen it's a very well prepped track that sits at sea level. With conditions like this your car will run much quicker than most when compared to other cars around the country, of course depending on DA.

+1. I agree with you.

Talking car to car buddy forget your alltitude and this and that I'm sure you can use a calculator to figure out everything i'm talking real world! Side by side not accross country I'm sure no matter what anyone says there will be some one to contradict, a tune only 335 will have a hard time catching a c63 enough said! Good luck and good bye see you all on the street!!!
