This is one of my favorite mods to date. Not only do these rotors look fantastic and improve braking performance and cooling, they are significantly lighter than the stock rotors. Because they are so lightweight, you can really feel a difference in the suspension feel, steering feel and acceleration. We're talking close to 40-lbs of combined unsprung weight savings and most of it is from the front. It feels like the whole car is lighter now.

These measure 14.2" (360mm) for the front and 13.0" (330mm) for the rear. They are are direct replacements for your OEM/stock rotors and they are designed to be used with the OEM AMG brake calipers.

evosport also made sure that each rotor vents and cools the correct way. The OEM rotors don't do this because they use the same part for either side.

To make installation simple, each hat (the black aluminum center) was etched with a directional rotation arrow and the letters FL, FR, RL or RR so you know where each one goes.

More info on the rotors here -> https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...otors-c63.html

I should mention that Simon @ evosport was great to work with. He was quick to respond to all of my random PMs, phone calls and emails . . . I like to ask a lot of questions. Thank you, Simon. :y

Anyhow, on to my photos!

Wow, look cool and - 12lbs. I'll pick up a set when my Forgestars are ready.

BTW, I miss the old scale, is it too late to bring it back?

LOL, it has become an internet legend! :D

Unfortunately, it wasn't very accurate below 10-lbs.

calgaryc63amg 05-15-2010 04:10 PM

Just curious, does anyone know the weight of the P30 front rotor for comparison between the two Super weighed?

Infamouz 05-15-2010 04:10 PM

40lb's just on rotors.. Wow.
What exactly can they shave off that makes it weigh so much less but be that much better? Since I'm no engineer, these things always make my head spin! :rolf:

Besides all the technical mumbo-jumbo.. they look great.

I don't have the weight, but I have the delta.

The P30 two-piece rotors are only 6-lbs lighter per side than OEM one-piece rotors.

Amazing transformation visually and functionally...congrats! :y

tgoss 05-15-2010 04:23 PM

That's a huge savings in weight! :y I'll definitely start looking into these someday soon.

Looks great. The new rotors also have the correct drill pattern unlike the OEM ones which are the same on both sides. :y

c63canada 05-15-2010 05:15 PM

those rotors look realllly good.

The scale is not too shaby either.

Looks great! Thanks for sharing! :y When can we expect the great write up as you always did for these rotors?

MB_Forever 05-16-2010 01:31 AM

Excellent review.... superlubricity, your posts are always very detailed and very informative, thanks for the effort you put in :y Now, you didn't happen to weight the rear rotors as well, did you? :D

exdes 05-16-2010 02:16 AM

What? no dyno?

Rotor and new scale looks great! thanks for posting pics!

Mort 05-16-2010 10:25 AM

Thanks. I didn't get a chance to weigh the evosport rear rotors. When I was having my LSD installed I happened to have them with me. Figured the car was already up on the lift with the wheels off so we threw them on. Saved me some time but didn't get the data. evosport says they are 7-lbs lighter than the OEM rotors.

Hah, I'll be back to the dyno soon with one more power mod to test. I'm curious as to where my new baseline will be as the rotors, tires and LSD will all impact driveline loss.
