Factory Flat White
 

Anybody hear of this? And can you get it for the c63? Also, any opinions on how it would look?

A dealership in my area had a matte white SL....looked awesome

Haven't seen the C63 in matte white. I saw the SL63 in that color on the fwy, it looks amazing.

That might be the best looking stock SL out there. Love it.

wow, I really like that. I was thinking about somehow matte my car white..

Just heard back from the dealer. He wrote "There are some matte finishes coming out in some of the higher priced cars. The C63 however does not have a Matte finish available." Do you think if I just tell them I'll pay up for it, they'll do it?

It'll most likely be a special order option ($$), but you can most definitely get it done.
AMG will do anything you'd like to the car as long as it doesn't require any additional crash testing.

Is that considered or fall under the "Designo" package?

It's a designo color. 3 available matte finishes, black, grey and white. In Canada it's only available on the SL and the E. Can't order a C63 with that color yet.

We sold one and have another one the showroom the SL63 IWC edition is absolute eye candy. Everyone should take a trip to see it in person, no pictures can capture how it really looks.

You can order a C63 with designo matte paint in Canada, it is a PA1 order - the matte white is designo code 049 (MAGNO cashmere white).

There is one C63 in Canada with designo matte paint (MAGNO platinum). I believe it was retailed in Montreal.

Much as I love the white, I would think repainting any part of the car and getting the overall sheen to match the original paint so as to be indistinguishable would be an absolute nightmare.

It's a matte clear bra. If I know they had this, I would use this instead of the regular clear bra.

You cannot wax or polish a matte finish with traditional products (or it will become somewhat glossy). Swissvax makes a wax specifically for matte finish, perhaps others do as well.

Since you cannot polish a matte finish, if you get a scratch, you have to repaint the panel. Matching the paint is not a problem, it is just a different clearcoat (with a flattening agent). The base coat itself is the same.

Matte Grey is available in Australia with the C63 AMG – Edition 63 model.

Great find Mike! Kudos. This paintjob is amazing. You will never get this effect with vinyl.... but the price is crazy :eek:

I suppose I don't have to tell you that the C63 estate is just spectacular :D

They had one at South Bay MBZ, where I picked up my car. I still prefer my cars glossy.
