Just heard back from the dealer. He wrote "There are some matte finishes coming out in some of the higher priced cars. The C63 however does not have a Matte finish available." Do you think if I just tell them I'll pay up for it, they'll do it?

It'll most likely be a special order option ($$), but you can most definitely get it done.
AMG will do anything you'd like to the car as long as it doesn't require any additional crash testing.

We sold one and have another one the showroom the SL63 IWC edition is absolute eye candy. Everyone should take a trip to see it in person, no pictures can capture how it really looks.

There is one C63 in Canada with designo matte paint (MAGNO platinum). I believe it was retailed in Montreal.

You cannot wax or polish a matte finish with traditional products (or it will become somewhat glossy). Swissvax makes a wax specifically for matte finish, perhaps others do as well.

Since you cannot polish a matte finish, if you get a scratch, you have to repaint the panel. Matching the paint is not a problem, it is just a different clearcoat (with a flattening agent). The base coat itself is the same.

Great find Mike! Kudos. This paintjob is amazing. You will never get this effect with vinyl.... but the price is crazy
