Buttons on L & R of windscreen button...
What features would the C63 have to have in order to use the buttons to the left and right of the rear windscreen buttons?

I think those are annoying remnants of the cookie-cutter C class dash. Don't ask me what buttons they could be - I'm as stumped as you.

Those buttons are for:
1) P))) - turning off the parking sensors
2) ABC Sport - a feature which is/was available only in the standard C-Class and I think it's available only in Europe
3) As you said the rear windscreen "protection"
4) not really sure
