Washing in the rain - check
Washing in 20 degree weather - check
Washing at 11pm at night - check
Washing at 7am in the morning - check

I try to wash my car once a week, but sometimes I don't have time to. I've gone at most two weeks without washing it. It's pretty painful. Now that I got my fiancee's car to take care of. It's probably every other week now.

My neighbors always think I'm nuts for washing my cars so much!

I think what really gets them is when I have to walk out two or three times after I'm finished and stand there with a cold beer admiring my work. I may be nuts but my cars look GOOOOD!

You people are nuts... and I mean that in the nicest way :P

I wash my car once every 2 weeks, wax maybe once a month, or every other month depending on my mood.

However, I do use the pressure nozzle on my garden hose to just do a quick clean every other day or so (not a pressure washer, that will strip paint if your not careful, not to mention easily penetrating sealed areas that water should not go in)

Anything under 1700psi won't damage paint unless you're really trying hard on purpose to damage it. If you do clean with a garden hose, just make sure you properly dry it or you'll get water spot etching in your clear coat. I used to hate the mad rush rinse process due to this, but now I have my CR Spotless system, rinsing is a breeze.

That is why I said "if your not careful" Also depends on the pressure tip used. It's more likely anything that is rubber and plastic (especially door seals) will get destroyed by the pressure.

Looking into the CR thingy.. never heard of it before.

CR Spotless is generally regarded among the detailing community as the best De-ionizing water system out there. It's pretty pricey, but my OCD wouldn't accept anything less lol. Just let the car sun dry, with no risk of introducing defects in drying process.

Yes. This. If you need to water your lawn, wash your car.
