Ok, I'm an idiot, but why can't i REprogram my garage door opener
i've got a rolling code door opener. i programmed my integrated remote to open it when i first got the car. I accidently reset the codes when trying to load another garage door (at another home) and now I can't get it to reprogram. it's driving me to drink.
does anyone know what the hell could be wrong???? hit the program button on the door opener, hit one of the buttons for 2 sec, then again, and it should be done right?
for the love of god, why won't you program damn it!

^^ Not true. Mine worked on the first attempt. You can program it two ways(with your garage door remote controller) and with the rear mirror buttons.
I was going to send you a PM with my home number to walk you thorugh but I realized that you figured it out.

Not that hard guys.
First make sure you are able to reach the training button on the back of your garage door opener. Make sure your car isn't in the path of the closing door.
Step 1. Start car
Step 2. Hold garage door transmitter up by the rear view mirror
Step 3. Press the open button on the transmitter and the button you want to program simultaneously until the light on your rear view mirror goes from slow blinks to rapid blinks. (If the button was previously programmed it may take up to 20 seconds before it blinks rapidly).
Step 4. Once the indicator lamp on your rear view mirror start blinking rapidly let go of the garage door transmitter and the button.
Step 5. You have 30 seconds to press the training button at the back of your garage opener. (the training light on your garage opener will stay one for 30 seconds)
Step 6. Press and hold the same button on your rear view mirror you pressed in step 3 for 2 seconds the let go.
Step 7. Press the same button again for another 2 seconds and let go. It should work now. Some garage openers need to be pressed a third time for 2 seconds.
Most people neglect the fact that MB requires the synchronization of the hand held transmitter to the the car's transmitter. (steps 2 and step 3). The BMW and Infiniti I had did not require this step. For those two cars all I needed to do was hold down the button on the rear view mirror until it blinks rapidly then press the training button on the garage opener then press the same rear view button again.

I'm resurrecting an old thread. I've done a search for my problem, and haven't found a similar one addressed.
I have a Genie GD opener (rolling code), and a Genie keypad outside the garage. If I am successful in programming my car, the keypad no longer works. I then re-sync the keypad and the opener and the car no longer is in sync. There are two other cars that remain in sync with the GD the whole time regardless of what happens with the Mercedes and the key pad.
Why would the Mercedes and the key pad seem to be causing my garage door opener to sync with one or the other, but not both?

Just followed the instructions in the owner's manual to program mine and it worked fine first time. I have Lift Master door openers with rolling code.

integrated opener
I am not an idiot, but I cannot program the integrated garage door opener on my new ML350. I have tried for 3 days, and I cannot even get the lights to flash. I have owned many high end cars, but never any that were so difficult to program. I finally had to put a call into the delivery manager at the dealership. Hopefully he will come to my house and take care of this...

Don't feel bad
I have programmed dozens of rolling codes
I have given up after too many jumps on and off the ladder and am using the remote

I got an email from MBUSA today and it contained a how to video for garage remotes
Unlike the many I have programmed before you no longer hold down the button. On the mirror when pointing and holding the remote until the green light flashes
First try with this method and presto all set

I know I am late on this response but if you have a rolling code on any garage door opener, there is a limit to the remotes. On mine it was 7. I learned this when adding 3 cars, two motor cycles, two hand helds, and a outside mount opener. So every time I added any over 7, it knocked one off. You have to settle for 7. I have a Genie but others follow the same rules...
