Looks like a ton of fun. Any idea what track layout you will be running? Full course?

All signed up, anyone else coming with a little "c"??

I find it interesting that in the registration it lists many makes like BMW, Porsche, etc.... but no Mercedes. We have to type it in under "other". Boy are they in for a rude awakening. If nothing else they will know we were there because of all the noise. HA! HA!

Excuse the newbie question but I have never been to a track in the US (only did drifting courses in France and one day at Lemans on RS4 and R8).
The price is very reasonable but I wonder if a stock car can handle a hot day like this. I do not want to be caught with a $5K bills for brakes and rotors.
More information and feedback would be greatly appreciated and helpful.

Thanks.

You would be right to be concerned. This is going to be a challenge to run decent lap times all the while trying to protect brakes and tires. Another event at a different time of year (Roebling in Nov with the Dark Side) will have an entirely different focus. This is my first experience at Sebring and learning the 3.7 mile track will be first order of business, probably at reasonable speeds. That may change however if a certain burgundy Benz happens to be within sight up ahead.

Two and half weeks away. Anyone else care to join us? It would be worth the price of admission just to see Dad's rip up the track with the R888's he had mounted today!

My tires are bald and I am awaiting my new rear tires.
I am not sure I can make it plus I still did not get a definite response whether you guys think I am in for a 5K brake job after a hot day at Sebring. I just can't afford that right now...

How on earth do you figure a brake job will be 5k? Your rotors will be fine, if anything you will need new pads, and if anything my bet would be only the front, which is not that expensive.

Please don't tell me you are going to put the cat back exhaust on for this event. You keep this up and I will put my Proxes on the stock wheels if the Forgestars aren't here.

You have complete control over how much abuse your brakes receive by reducing your approach speed. If you haven't been on a road course before I doubt you will come close to the braking limitations. It will be hot and you might consider flushing the system and using a fluid with a higher wet/dry boiling point.

Do not consider tracking the car on bald tires or you may have an encounter with an immovable object that would make a brake job look like chump change.

That said, I hope things work out and maybe we will see you there. If you don't want to track the car it will be a fun day for spectating also. Keith and I are only there on Saturday.

No cat back, just open headers.

I agree that I need new tires to go on the track. I am awaiting my pilot A/S+ and hope to get them before the event.
It appears everyone feels like I should be fine regarding the brakes and it is up to me.
Since I have no experience tracking in the US. What is required for me to get on the track in Sebring? Do I need to call them and fill out some paperwork ahead of time.
Excuse the newbie question.

I do not know anything about running with that group. But I would check their website. Typically all you need a tech sheet filled out and signed and a helmet.
