Early first oil change?
Did anyone do a first oil change early? I did one at 1K miles on my Yukon Denali and there were lots of metal flakes, etc. After inspecting the oil, I was glad I did it. Regardless of the factory service guidelines, is there any reason not to do the same thing with the C63? Thanks.

There is no harm in taking preventive measures, it's your car. I changed the oil in my E63 early, found nothing unusual. Essentually, it was just break in oil for the first 1000K aways. The AMG, tend to eat oil until their fully broken in. No harm, no foul. Go and have that oil changed. You'll sleep better knowing it was done.

the AMG motors are "run in" from the factory from what i have been told and read. so no break in oil change is needed. but like Yuille said... its your high dollar car so do what makes you feel comfortable. cant hurt to change it early. i changed my after one year with 6k miles on the clock and didnt see any abnormal issues with it.

I changed my oil at 1,500 miles and when I cut open the oil filter it was full of metal and a couple of pieces of what looked like "form-a-gasket". Dealer tech (an AMG Performance Center) said it was not a problem. I wasn't sure whether to trust him or not, but I have changed the oil 3 times already at 7,000 miles, and not found any other problems - and the car does not burn oil at all anymore.
I would change the oil at 1,000 or so miles. It's very cheap insurance.

Frequent oil changes-here's a great reason
FWIW I have a few MBZ master tech friends (I'm humbled by these guys), and both support old school-sounding 3k oil changes on direct injection engines. They point to the fact that no fuel system/injector cleaners get anywhere near the valve stems, since fuel is directly injected into the cylinders. So the only fluid the valve stems see is motor oil...oil's cheap so I have stepped up my frequency. Not for anything, M157s make motor oil really black really quick (I know, a 100% subjective observation with zero data to back it up, so grain of salt)
