Wouldn't shift out of 1st or to C or M mode?
Anybody have this problem - car went to neutral rolling to a stop, (in AMG screen) no gear was displayed at the top of the dial, so I shifted to park when stopped and back to D where it lurched into gear. Only the gear still was not displayed and it would not shift out of what must have been 1st with paddle shifters. When I got home and turned the car off and back on - everything was back to normal? No messages that would imply it went to limp mode either.
I am thinking my tranny has a problem. Have also been hearing a ringing noise at times.

A friend of mine had something similar happen to his E63...they replaced the entire transmission. I'd document it and have your dealer take a look.

Any word on the transmission noise? I noticed that you did the service A. Did you adressed the issue with the dealer? Who is your service advisor?

I am thinking the noise I am hearing at speed is wind related whistling on the mirror possibly. The tranny has not done anything strange since the one incident and I am thinking it was all computer related since turning the car off and back on made it go away (may have been user induced I am thinking).
I was going to go back into the dealer (I had my Service A done just before this all showed up), but now I am just going to monitor things and go in if it re-occurs.
