Bragging BMW driver busted by web post
The Canadian Press - The Canadian PressVAUGHAN, Ont. -
Police say a BMW driver who bragged about his speeding on a social networking site was later convicted on careless driving charges.
York Regional Police say Vladimir Rigenco, 19, of Vaughan, Ont., is banned from driving for six months and sentenced to 12 months probation after he entered a guilty plea.
He must also complete a remedial driving program and pay a fine of $1,000.
Police say a U.S. man contacted officers in early April about a social networking website for BMW fans, where a suspect had posted a message saying he drove his car 100 km/hr over the speed limit in Vaughan.
The online community reacted to the post and urged the driver to slow down and be more cautious.
On April 16, officers arrested and charged Rigenco in connection with the careless driving incident.
He was convicted Aug. 5.

This was his post....
Going 140 km/h on a 40 zone
The title says it all basically. Anyways, yesterday I was going back home during the day time after the GYM, and when I hit the street next to my house " Appleblosom dr" the zone there is 40 km/h, as soon as I turn into that street, I stopped the car, pressed the (M) button, DSC off, max short shift, and take off 1st gear ( 8000 RPM, switch) and so on... I hit 140 in like 6 or less seconds lol, some old guy was standing on the sidewalk tlaking to another guy, he had a pencil and a paper, he decides to run into my car to stop me, but I was too fast. Do you think he could tka emy liscence number ? lol I think I was too fast, I really doubt that. Though, I gotta admit, I cant stop racing with this car, beleive it or not, I killed a black E63 AMG Last week on Dufferin street. It was almost equal but in the end I had more power.

Drive 140kmh in a slow 40kmh speed residential area.
And He repeatly said "I am a careful driver". They should take his license longer than 6 mos. Luckily he got caught before tragic happens.

What a dumbass. For the driving, then being stupid enough to brag about it. Although, shouldn't there be more evidence? I mean, what if he had just been bs'ing...guess since he pled guilty they had him by the *****.

I think the old guy, standing on the sidewalk, got his license plate and report incident.

to be honest, many of his claims are not admissible in court.
The law will protect him easily, but thank god he is an idiot and admit to it because idiots like this dont deserve to use the loopholes in law.

I'm guilty of speeding myself (I'm sure most of you are), but I keep it on the freeways.
I actually got waived down on my street a few weeks ago because an old lady thought
I was haulin' *** (I was going the posted limit) & I had to explain to her it was only the
exhaust note.. revved it a few times and she said "So, it's you who wakes me up at night!"
Hope this kid learns his lesson, justice served.

Former Vendor of MBWorld
Also who would report him? It take someone with no time on their hands to report someone for a forum post. Its stupid to go that fast, but its equally as lame to report someone based on a forum post. There is a reason people say their top speed run were done in Mexico.

Alone, they wouldn't be. However, his claims taken in conjunction with witness statements would be. I doubt the old guy got his whole license plate number at that speed, but a partial plate, in conjunction with his online stupidity would work in most courts.
