Cross brand modding
Few weeks ago, I went out for Chinese takeout food and came back with liquid all over my trunk floor (under the cargo net wasnt an option) and plus the waiter failed to pack the food correctly. So I see that my wife A4 has these grocery hangers. Thought it was neat, so I took a trip down to the local Audi dealer to get a set. They were pretty simple to install, set a pilot hole and secure them with provided tapping screws. They hold up to 20-25lbs. Now, I have Audi parts in a Merc and food can be off the floor.

Yesterday, I picked up the hook from Audi. Just like the OP said, easy install.
Mine did not come with hardware, but again as he said, all you need is the self tapping metal screws--drill a pilot hole first.
Here's the part number if anyone else is interested: 6Y5 867 615 C QTC. Cost me about $35.

nice one. I use to buy Audi parts cheap for my cargo area on my porsche cayenne turbo 2009.
It was a direct fit. Audi, porsche and merc share a bunch in the parts bin. take a look at the buttons, the dash ones the dial, trim and the rear seat vents and the window buttons. look familiar. take a look in a audi or porsche. they try to offset them by a year.
ps.. actually use to buy VW 3.0 liter ignition kits for my old 911 back in south africa. people forget that mercedes does not make a wiper blade nor a distributor cap/.. bosh does and if you have access to internal number you realize how badly the cross pollination it really is. i ould pay less than 1-% of what the OE porsche part would cost from porsche.. silly
