I had a blast meeting everyone and checking out some sweet rides.
Ill let Jon tell you how he thinks it went for him, but lets just say he left quite abruptly after our second run.

Great Morning.........
Great meeting all you guys and sharing experiences, tips and tricks. It was just such a great morning, OBI car show/crowd followed by the customary shenanigans.
Bonus.... listening to Bruce's wisdom, helping to keep results in perspective like always.
Propain/Albert, thanks for your patience with me, its been awhile since I practiced or attended any meets.
I do have an observation, since I don't have the 030 package or a tune, how come my speed limiter didn't kick in ?

After seeing my dyno results from yesterday I'm curious if I could hang with or beat a tuned C63.
424whp in 91 degree ambient (yesterday). You NYCers know how hot it was yesterday!

Agreed.
It would, but I think you're perhaps missing an important aspect of this: when your vehicle is sitting on a dyno, it's true speed is zero. The only differences between a 3rd, 4th, or 5th gear run are the gear ratios and corresponding drivetrain speeds (tranny output, driveshaft, axles, wheels, etc.). So, if the engine's getting sufficient airflow during a 4th gear run - it's not like it's magically going to be running short of airflow during a 5th gear run. The only caveat to this that I can think of, is that a higher numerical gear run takes relatively longer to complete, therefore more heat is likely generated in the drivetrain.
EDIT: Thinking this through further, a higher numerical gear dyno run probably stresses the engine less. The fans used at dyno shops (at least, that I've been to) aren't variable speed fans - they're constant. So, during a higher-gear dyno run, the engine revs more slowly, therefore has more airflow volume from the constant velocity fans to work with, over that longer duration of time. Hmmm... interesting, hadn't thought of that before.

That seems pretty harsh.

Nice meeting you Jim. The last run you jumped first(1/2 car) but I did reel you in. Im sure you clearly saw that. Even with no mods to the airbox also charcoals intact. I do have a factory freak BTW I had to go, had plans with the girl.

Your car is fast for sure, but you didn't do anything to prove the air box mod doesn't work. I think I proved it did... My car is faster in the 1/4 no question. Maybe above 120 you started to gain a bit but at 140 you were still not ahead.
You also weigh 100 pounds soaking wet (No exaggeration) and im 210. Next time put a passenger in your car and you wont be reeling anything in..
Now you keep up your end of the deal and lets see some dyno numbers.

Both runs I had you from the start by 1/2. 1st run you didn't reel me in at all. 2nd run you came back a little but never pulled ahead. I cut off at 140 and your front bumper was at my fender. 2 of the guys with us saw both runs. I tell no lies.

I dont really care if his tuned c63 is supposely is faster then my same tune C63. But I'm making a point that his airbox mod is a waste Next time I will video.

You also are ignoring the first run from a 1st gear dig where you lost miserably.
I was going to video it but I ran out of my house early and forgot my flip. I had plenty of witnesses. Thank you Tom.
I stated you pulled on me a bit but you never were able to pull ahead of me. You are making excuses. You lost and you fled quickly after because you didn't want to face the music. Better luck next time.
Still a big weight difference BTW and if your 140 im 240.

Did you pull ahead at any point? No.

thought we did 1st gear on the 1st? No? Either way, I destroyed you on the first run... which you said I jumped... then you did the countdown... and I got you again.... and you blame the loss on the jump I guess? Maybe you need to launch better?
You lost didn't you? Your car was never ahead of mine at any point in both races was it? You have at least 110 pounds less in your car don't you? Still haven't seen you admit this yet....
Either way, I knew this would happen. I was warned you don't lose well. Next time we go to the track for some real racing. October 7th at Atco is the next one. Tell the Jeep to come so I cant watch him destroy you. Somehow you think you are faster than an 11.1
If you cant get the jump on a horn I cant wait to see what you do with a tree....

I'm just glad 2 other people saw me beat you. Good enough for me.
I understand the dynamics of the C63 vs the Jeep. Of course you will take him top end. I would take him top end. Its a JEEP! The faster he goes the more force pushing him down. Its a flying brick. Its simple physics, but for some reason you use this top end kill as your claim to fame.
Now get your butt to the Dyno and lets see this amazing beast you claim to have...
