Listen to what the dealer just told me, not really the biggest deal, but interesting.

SA

I had a c4s and had multiple issues with the dearship due to the SA. I almost decked him out one day. He stayed hiding out in the back. The North Ameican Porsche rep was a bigger moron. He was asking me on advice about a paint problem that they had a customer complaining about because he new I had a shop. The idiot couldn't tell that bird droppings had left a mark in the paint and wouldn't be a warrantee issue. But as for the SA, he was going to be sent to the hospital if I had saw him.

hi folks, at least Benzs (maybe just C63) don't have many problems. if you go to M3 forum, you'll see many, and i mean many problems. warranty or not. i've been there. some SAs are nice. some aren't. i've been to a dealer (BMW) and i spoke to a shop foreman. i asked couple of questions regarding my manual tranny. all he could say was "work as designed" i bet he never heard of a blocker ring.

so there you have it. these days, dealers make money off of services. warranty is not quite money making tools. they try to avoid it as many as possible.

Yes, unless the problem is readily apparent, it's common to be met with skepticism from the SA.

But, what compounds the problem is the lack of automotive knowledge from some SA's. I wish my service appointments were with the shop foreman (the dealership that I go to for service has a really cool shop foreman that I met recently), but there's only one foreman at my dealership and many customers. haha
