Those don't look like good numbers at all.
Look at the Mph that's the important part in that comp!!

Very interesting data, but not when analyzed by someone "not in the know."

You can't look at the ETs alone ignoring all the other data. I edited my post (where you copied this from without citing me as the author) to include a MPH-sort. MPH is a much better indicator of Horsepower.

Anyhow, B.E.R.U.A.N.G's car was neck in neck with the P31 stock car all day long. They actually tied ET and MPH (low 114's) twice when they ran heads-up. I've got all 150+ runs from today in front of me. It wasn't until I layed down about 2/3 of my Nitto tread on a well prepped lane when he made an incredible pass as he finally got some traction on those street tires.

Said well amuture talk. When a (tuned car) pulls the same mph as a stock car it's not that impressive?

Not when the stock car is tuned by MB at the factory as part of the P31 package. We've seen these P31 cars make the same power as aftermarket-tuned cars on the same dyno. It's expected that they would perform the same at the track.

Yes, conditions are much different here in the Rainy/Humid Pacific Northwest. It was also surprisingly warm today. High-70's all afternoon. I wish we had your cool dry Northeast air. MIR and Atco are amazing tracks.

I just did Mir 2 weeks ago 20 runs in 82+ degree temps ran 11.7s all day. My car bested an 11.56 @ 123. I'll be at atco the 7th with much better conditions since we dropped to about 60 as highs.. Well anyway keep up the good work over there!

See Sig
Wish I could go to Atco on the 7th to show some numbers.

The OE tune is putting down some major numbers. Jeremy is the man. Get yourself to TTM on the 12th and find out for yourself! Before and after are two different cars. (See my Dyno thread)

As to the price, MHP is significantly higher. I honestly dont see how MHP could be making more power tune for tune than the OE. If they have id like to see the dyno to prove it. So in my mind the OE is the way to go!

Im shooting for Maryland in Oct so I hope there is a tune only MHP there for me to run.

I just dont get it, all the extra hp that is claimed from the tunes yet so little difference on the track. My stock c63 pulled a 12.43 quarter mile so i would expect that with up to an extra 60 to 70hp from a tune a quarter mile time of a tuned would be significantly less than stock, whats going on, is it just dyno trickery?

I also agree with the costs of these tunes being way too expensive. In Perth it will cost me $3000 for a power chip tune or $4000 for a MHP tune, this is obscene considering it is just a software modification and there is no raw material added as there would be with say an exhaust system upgrade.

Can someone convince me it is worth the expense as i am yet to see the raw data on quarter mile times before i pull my wallet out.

Most of those cars were on 18 and 19" street tires. ET is tremendously dependent on traction and launch (i.e. 60' times). Trap speed (MPH at 1/4) isn't to the same degree. You can see that the higher horsepower cars have picked up about 8 MPH in 1/4 mile trap speed over a stock car, as well as about 4 MPH in trap over a tune-only (either P31 or aftermarket) car. Same track, same day. Put all of these cars on real DRs, and you'll start to see a divergence in both trap and ET. IMHO.

Don't look at ET's as driver skill, drag radials etc affect them.

Look at trap speed as the true measure of power and performance. It is interesting tha a tune alone car (in this case Eurocharged) has a trap speed w/ in 3.7 mph of cars with headers, pulleys, etc.

If you dont have tires you can have all the power in the world and it won't matter. Remember all the Supra jokes, they are highway monsters but at the track usually run high ET and high MPH lol.

1 tuner has 4 tune and drag radial C63s running in the 11s I don't know of anyone else that has put a single car into the same 11s.

If you are complaining about the price of a $2500 tune, you should check out MKB $6500 and Vath $10,500 or Brabus ($???).

Just because its software doesnt mean its all the same and I agree dynos mean nothing compared to track data. Its not the dynos fault its just that shops have abused that measuring stick by playing with results way too much.

CLK 500(Gone), C63 FTW!
beofre it's getting worst...Me and Avenger are FIRST TIMER...so..that's effect alot for the results....My 12.364 was there after 30+ pulls...or heck I may even do 40+ pulls, because some of my pull wasnt recorded (The time slip didnt print)

So...yeah please dont forget that in the equation

Regarding ECU Tune, I am using Uerocharged, which is the cheapest...since I dont really track my car that often...+50 RWHP is more than enough for me. (I havent dyno it, but that's other got from Eurocharged tune.)

+1

It's also interesting that the stock P31 car is within 0.19 MPH of the Eurocharged-tuned car.

If I was a P31 owner, I probably wouldn't bother to do "tune-only" from any vendor... it appears likely that AMG's in-house "tune" takes most of (if not all of) the easy software-related HP off the table.

Not getting into which is better but I will personally vouch for Jeremy's work. He is not only great to work with but his tuning and pricing is hard to match. Within 30mins in his hands my car was completely transformed and the gains really showed and backed it all up on the dyno. He really has a solid tune for our platform. I will only work with him from here on out for any of my cars. That is if, I am lucky enough to have some of his precious time because he is super busy but I would be too if I had the knowledge, skill, and the service he provides. If all goes as planned I will be testing his stage2 w/headers soon. Should be quite interesting! PM me if you need any info or questions.

Exactly everyone was running differnet tires and it showed in the 60 foot times.

I bet the guys with tune and headers probably had to pedal it out of the gate but the tune only car which ran after super laid down some rubber probably was in it the whole time. I wouldnt go race a header & tune car without DRs.

That is some crazy prices!!!
Call my mechanic James at BPS chiptek. With tune and exhaust ive gained 8mph over stock 112 to 121mph.
I think we can see from all the data track conditions and tyre choice play a major role in ets and mph.
