Dave this is some great info, I am also one of the ones who prefers the big displacement rather than a blown car, looks like we have a little time if you still want a 6.2L.....I also didnt realize that the C coupe AMG is out next month.

Yeah, they are been "nailed" by emissions here in Europe and the US and the 5.5 gives them some release from this. The "greens" have won this battle. The coupe is out in Germany only...will see if they can send photos. He showed me some "spy" photos of the coupe...looked ok but was not really taken by it.

Tell them we want the wagon/estate here in the US please. I would trade in my car for a C63 P31 Estate in a heartbeat.

According to AMG the braking improvement of P31 is about 20% better than standard C63. Combination of rotor/pad materials and brake fluid. Wider tires are in order - they are changing supplier for OEM C63s and are considering 265 as standard. Conti for Europe, Yokohama for US

Edit: Here's two more to consider asking: 1) Do ROW airbox tops make more power when the car is driving? and 2) Do carbon filters limit power compared to when they are not used?
Pure marketing. They admit they are estimated the power on P31 as it was bumping close to E63 power yet we all know there is massive price difference between the cars. Pure commercial decision to keep power seperation between the models. ROW boxes DO NOT make more power - just better airflow = better response. They think US EPA is a joke and the carbon filters a pain-in-the-a** as it just adds costs to car.

That's pretty funny what they think of the U.S. EPA.

Thank you for asking all of these questions and updating this thread.

Are they changing to Conti and Yokohama for this current W204 platform? If so, which Conti and which Yokohama. Sorry, bit of a tire noob here.
